Dear Novotel Athens Team, I am writing this feedback to you as a fellow colleague. Checking in at Novotel was a complete disappointment. Although we were happy to arrive at the hotel after a long day, the welcome did not feel pleasant. When we entered the room, we noticed that the curtains, carpet, and bathroom were not clean (there were hairs in both the bathroom and the bed). When we asked for slippers from reception, we were told that they are only provided in executive rooms. A few minutes later, one pair of slippers was delivered, but it was only for one person (we are staying as two guests). Additionally, I am not staying in the room type that was confirmed to me. When I asked the reception about my room type, they said it was a standard room. However, when I informed them that my room type should be a superior family room, the receptionist said that yes, my room belongs to that category. So, is my room a standard room or a superior family room?

The hotel is near to the city center, walking distance to all main historical sites, few minutes from National Archeological museum. The hotel is safe, staff helpfull and polite, clean rooms. Excellent wifi.

Hotel was a bit tired and the WiFi was poor, but the big issue was the neighbourhood. The walk to and from the metro was unpleasant.

We stayed four days. The upgrade was appreciated and was very comfortable. During the time we were there, we didn't use any of the facilities, like pool, gym, as the season was cool and we weren't there long enough. The staff was good. Housekeeping was also good. In our room, the shower didn't get very hot, only warm, which we found unusual as all the other hotels get hot water. Otherwise, the bathroom was well stocked with towels and toiletries. The breakfast has many options, which was good. We particularly liked the yogurt, grape leaves, meat and cheese. There are also gluten-free options when requested. However, the egg station can be improved. We were told we could only get boiled eggs or scrambled eggs which were on the buffet stand. This was the first Accor hotel we stayed at where we hadn't been able to order an omelette or fried eggs. The location is good. There are many restaurants nearby and the Acropolis is easily reached by foot in about 20 minutes. Overall, we had a nice stay and would return.

Had a three night stay in Athens, the hotel was as expected from a service and amenity standpoint. The one complaint that I have is the terrible smell on the 5th floor. The hallways and rooms have a musty smell that permeates everything. Upon leaving our clothes that were in suitcases held that smell until washed again when returning home.
