Nice stay. Very friendly staff, helpful and professional. Nice big room but quiet old. Good location but in dirty neighborhood. Very poor breakfast. In logical Covid restrictions safety measures guests don't have to wear masks during breakfast , food is displayed and even though it is served by the staff, can be easily infected by the guests who speak to the staff over it. They should either make a buffet for customers who wear masks or good should be served by the staff from behind a screen . Their current policy has nothing to do with fighting Covid transmission. Bit hotel as such is very good, and extremely friendly staff.

Novotel in Athens is a great choice for being in the center of the city, having access to the huge metropolitan area of the Greek capital. The location may not be the most luxurious of all, but for me, as a born Athenian, it is part of "downtown Athens" that I know and trust. As I had numerous visits and meetings, it was exactly what I needed. The room was spacious, very clean and comfortable, breakfast was served packed (due to covid-19), but was rich and tasty, parking was also available and free of charge (please check about this, it might have been included in my booking rate). A roof bar and pool was also available, with 360 degrees view of the whole city, as well as the Acropolis and Lycabettus hills. All in all, a very good business stay.

After several years of membership, this is going to be the first time that I am really desapointed. I’m a supporter of accor group and I try to stay in one of the hotels every where we travel. Athens Novotel had a nice and quiet room. The pool was excellent. The location is not the nicest but ok, close to the metro, the museum and we walked with our kids to the city center several times. However my really disappointement was the breakfast: sorry but it was really really HORRIBLE !!! Ok you have the “excuse covid” - before staying at Novotel Athens we stayed in two others hotels (Mykonos and at the center of Athens just some days before) and we have delicious breakfasts with quality products in those others. Novotel gave us un industrial yogurt MADE IN Germany !!!! Sorry but it is quite a “sin” in the country of the yogurts ! Not only the yogurt but everything was of terrible quality! I never had this problem before at the accor hotels. If I knew, I would avoid taking breakfast at Novotel! I don’t like to give bad reviews, and I hope that my sincere opinion can make Novotel change this unpleasant surprise!

Overall hotel is really great, the only few things is that: 1) the room was far too hot. A/C was not working properly, was boiling hot in the room at all times. Good that we came in March when the temperatures are not too high outside. I don’t know how your guests stay over at summer season. 2) Room cards were not working well in the elevator. At least once a day we had to go back to reception and ask to activate cards again. It has never worked at the parking exists at all. 3) I found, personally, breakfast buffet to be to poor/boring. I understand you try to keep it as a standard but I lacked some variety. Other than that we really enjoyed our stay. Restaurant was also pleasant to have dinner at, with good food, generous portions.

Filthy room

The only nice about this hotel is its lobby. The staff was very kind to give us a room in the upper floors with a view of the acropolis. The garage space was awful and surely has not been maintained for many years with the tarp peeling off. On our first night my wife spotted a large tick-like insect crawling on the linens. The next morning at the breakfast all hot dishes were cold. And surely we went for breakfast 1-1/2 hours before it was over and not during the end. I noticed that there we no warmers for hot dishes, so somebody has to be in luck with the timing of the refill if he wants to eat a hot dish. We were in luck with that the 2nd day. Of course at our 2nd night we spotted a few other ticks crawling on the walls and the linens. Bottom line, the rooms (at least the one we stayed at) at this hotel are in need of urgent disinfection and housekeeping is not to blame here. It is a pity for a chain hotel to be in this situation.

My Hotel stay and the helpfulness and friendliness of the Hotel and Bar staff was fantastic. My main issue was with the restaurant and staff. I had seen the "Mixed Grill" advertised in the hotel for many weeks and on this stay had some colleagues with me and suggested we try it. I had recommended the hotel to them as well. The image advertising the "Mixed Grill" showed mixed souvlaki, gyros and chicken steak on the plate. This looked great and is what I would expect in Greece. What myself and my colleague were given was a couple of pieces of dry, luke warm meat and a lamb burger type thing. No Souvlaki and no gyros at all. This was terribly disappointing and very embarrassing for me, as I had recommended this to my colleague. I told the waiter and he just responded that "the poster was wrong and I had a mixed grill". He then went and removed the poster from outside the elevator. He was not helpful at all and quite rude. I do not expect this as a Gold member of the Accor club and a regular visitor to the Novotel Athens. They did eventually bring out a small plate of gyros but it was too late. My restaurant experience was ruined In future you should not advertise false representation of your restaurant menu. This is not ok. We will not be eating at your restaurant again and my colleague is unlikely to stay again

The hotel is marketed as a upper scale destination, but it is located in an area that has very little appeal and the premises are a bit old and worn out. We took advantage of a very interesting promotion, but if we had to pay for the full amount we would have been very unhappy. We had dinner at the restaurant and were unsatisfied with the quality and the price. Breakfast was much better. A good point of the hotel is the free underground parking.

Good stay on most fronts - service and room both good. Had a bad experience with either a disturbed or very drunk guest in the bar, who was generally rude an unpleasant. Also, the food was not great.

The hotel is located not too far from Athens center and Metro stations. Staff is friendly and helpful. There are some minor drawbacks, e.g. breakfast, but value for money is okay.

The staff is friendly, the room was big enough, comfortable bed. Less comfortable was the sofa bed and not as clean as a 4 stars hotel should be. And I didn’t liked the area also.

The hotel was clean but that was about it. I was given a room with broken and very noisy ventilation system, I had to insist for the receptionist to come check it. She brought me the key to another room, without even a word of apology. The new room was ok, nothing special. I was not acknowledged as an Accor gold member and it seems also the welcome drink voucher is not issued anymore..
