Hi, what novotel athens is selling withint ACCOR is a big lie. The pictures do not show the reality and if I would have known how rooms and surroundings were before, I would never chose this hotel. Lady at the restaurant bar very rude, she quarreled with for 2 coffes as welcome dreams yelling and offering no solutions and contradicting with the receptionist , whom I aligned before - basically they were not agreeing in front of the client , me. What they were not aware it was that I understand greek very well and the conversation for 2 coffees was too rude - too much effort and energy wasted in my free paid holidays. The rooms were dirty, old carpets full of dust, complimentary drinks as executive room was not refilled 1 day, isolation of the room was bad and you could see how the curtains are moving because of the wind passing through the closed door (by the way, curtains and carpets I believe they were at least 40 years old and unwashed) , breakfast was chaotic and low quality for Novotel and Greece , location close to everything but yes full of drug addicts with seringes thrown all over the place - bad experience. And if I would not have bought an exwcutive room, probably in the lower ones it was even worse.

Dear Ana I., Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are sincerely sorry that your stay did not meet your expectations. We apologize for the service experience at the bar, as well as for the issues related to room cleanliness, maintenance, and amenities. Your comments have been shared with the relevant teams for immediate review and improvement. We also regret that the breakfast experience and surrounding area affected your stay. While some factors are beyond our control, guest comfort remains our priority. Thank you again for your feedback. We hope to have the opportunity to provide you with a better experience in the future. Kind regards, P.SIMINTZIS, Novotel Athens Team

I was very dissatisfied with my stay at the Novotel hotel in Athens. I had multiple issues with this hotel. First of all, the room had an issue with the ventilation. It was constantly on and was very loud. It made sleeping at night very hard. I told this to the reception and they told me that they could not fix it. The only option would be to either change room or wait for a technician. I asked what rooms were available to change to and the only rooms that were available were smaller rooms than what I had paid for and I would not get the difference back. Another option would be the same size room, but on the front of the hotel where the busy street is located. The rooms are very badly isolated to outside noise so this would also be very bad for our comfort and quality of sleep since you could hear everything outside. This made changing the room not an option. I asked what time the technician would be able to come. The reception told me that the technician would be at my room at 9am. I've waited the entire morning in the room for the technician to come, but no one came. At 1pm I had enough of waiting and went to the front desk to confront the reception with regards to the technician not showing up. They told me that he passed by the room and deemed the ventilation to not be a problem, even though he never came to the room to inspect. Very strange. Then I asked them to let him come again to check and that I was waiting for him. They told me that he would be coming. Again waited until 6pm and no one came. My entire day was gone by waiting in the room for this technician to come, only for him to never show up. When I went to the desk again about the issue they said that the technician had left and that my only option was to change the room. In a very arrogant way the reception asked me "what is it that you want???". I mean it is quite clear that I want my room to be fixed or at least be changed to a normal size room like the one I paid for. Eventually I said that changing the room was fine and so we did. We changed to the room next to the room I had booked which was the same size on the same side of the building. But again we had issues with the room. The airco did not work properly and it was only blowing hot air. This made the room super hot which made it hard to go to sleep. We couldn't be bothered to go back to the desk since we didn't trust the reception anymore to help us since they were such bad support initially. Lastly, the location of the hotel is super poor. The first days we thought that it was perfect to walk to and back from the city center since the distance was not that far. But, after the second day we noticed that the neighborhood was full of junkies, drunk and shady people. We decided to only use the taxi and even the taxi drivers told us that the hotel was located on the bad side of Athens and that we should watch out when going out at night. This confirmed my feelings after the second day.

Excellent service, great views & thoughtful birthday surprise

We stayed at Novotel Athens for 12 nights and had a truly lovely experience. The hotel team went above and beyond to meet all our requests, including assigning us a room with a fantastic view. We were celebrating our honeymoon and my husband’s birthday, and the complimentary birthday cake was such a kind and memorable gesture. The staff were consistently warm, polite, and helpful, making us feel very well taken care of. We also really enjoyed the food at the hotel restaurant — everything we tried was delicious. While the surrounding area can feel a little rough at night (we opted for taxis in the evenings), it was perfectly fine to walk around during the day, and transport was always easy to arrange. Overall, a comfortable and memorable stay with great hospitality. We would happily stay here again.
