This was not my first stay at Peppers Docklands and was not the service I was used to from this property. I am not usually one to complain, but am sharing my experience in an effort to improve. Check in was efficient, thank you. But when I opened the door to my room, I could immediately see that I was allocated a room without a window. I walked in the room and immediately walked back down to reception to ask for a room move, based on my feeling of claustrophobia in that room. I was told by the receptionist that there was nothing he could do about it and I would need to wait until his manager started in 1/2 an hour. I totally understood this and left me bag to be stored, while I went to my meeting. When I came back, there had been no handover of my request to the duty manager and I had to explain that I did not have a room key, that I had asked for a room move and my luggage was stored. He immediately replied that he also could not help as the hotel was fully booked and housekeeping had left for the day (it was 4pm). I explained no housekeeping was required as I did not use the room at all. He did not offer any solution at all. I then asked if I would be charged if I cancelled the booking, to which is replied yes. I was forced to stay in that room, but was not comfortable at all and I was more perplexed that two people in a hospitality role did nothing to try and help me.

Hi, unfortunately we had to move rooms as the smell of sewage was so strong it was right through the whole room (#416) The girl at reception came up and saw us to a new room. There was no maintenance person to help. She did her best. We always stay at Accor hotels and often peppers but never this hotel again. Restaurant wasn’t open apart from breakfast even though I’d called to check about dinner. Had just had a medical procedure which was the reason for staying so called to check beforehand there was valet parking so we didn’t have to carry luggage which were told there was but wasn’t available on arrival. Great location for events at marvel but would never stay here again. Sorry.
