It was an overnight stay for my husbands' birthday with the family ... thank you for the birthday card & bottle of the yummiest Byron Bay Chocolates ( that was a lovely touch ). Mantra is in an awesome location, right on the front esplanade. We got a 3 bedroom corner room facing south on the 17th floor .. the view surrounding was gorgeous. But the rooms was quite dated, but clean. The AC didn't work well ( hot & stuffy in the bedrooms ) and the fan in one of the rooms didn't work at all. We didn't check in til after 5pm and we had dinner planned with family & friends so didn't bother telling reception until they asked how the room was the next day ... it was just the one night. The staff at the front desk were lovely and caring. Had a huge scalp reaction with the shampoo in the bottles ... never had that before and I've used that brand before. In the past we've stayed in the same place and we've always enjoyed it. Just quite taken back as to how dated the apartment was. Aside from a few picky things about that particular apartment I can't fault the staff or the location.

Staff at Mantra Coolangatta are always so pleasant and helpful. A special call out to Lisa on reception, she is so lovely, goes out of her way for you and made our stay special. Our vote for employee of the month please!!! We would have rated 10/10 for our stay but found apartment 602 very dated. Understand that we did not chose to stay in a Superior room but as we have stayed in many apartments here, this has to be our least favourite. Dated tiles in the loungeroom needs at least a rug to make it welcoming! No cushions on the chairs and no coasters on the coffee tables. Its the small things that make the difference. The 2 bathrooms must still be the original when the Mantra was first built. However putting all of this aside, the apartment was clean, the views as always are amazing and the Mantra staff welcoming. We will be back!!! just not in room 602 please!
