The hotel is very modern, with state of the art technology. The rooms are immaculate with incredible views of the coastline. It's situated near the end of the beach near the headlands, which is an area of immense natural beauty. The Haven restaurant on level 3 has a small but very good menu, in fact all the food was good in both restaurants, and breakfast in Lito was superb. My only small criticism would be that the in room dining menu is quite limited compared to other 5 star properties. We stayed in a 2 bed beach house for 5 nights, which was the largest we've ever seen, really the most impressive hotel room you'll ever experience at this price point. We then extended our stay and moved to a 1bed suite on a higher floor, which was far smaller, but had such a good view from the balcony we didn't want to leave. The pool/bar on level 3 was nice, with a good range of beers on tap, and friendly staff who go out of their way to accommodate. The front desk staff are very efficient and helpful, but the desk is small, which can lead to a bit of congestion at times, but that is not their fault. I've rated this 8/10, and it would have been 9/10, but one incident has lead me to remove a point. We asked to sit outside in Lito, but were told the outside was only for customers of the Cafe, even though all but 1 of the tables were empty. This felt like we were fobbed off, as we had paid for a 2 bed beach house at $18000. But all in all, this is a fantastic hotel, with truly incredible natural surroundings.

Dear Management Team, I am writing to share some feedback regarding our recent stay. I want to preface this by saying that I don’t usually reach out with negative reviews, but as a business owner who was scouting your property for our national conference this August, I felt it was important to be candid. The Mondrian is undeniably beautiful, but the service we experienced was so consistently lacking that I unfortunately cannot justify bringing my team here for our corporate event. At a luxury price point, the "finer details" are what matter, and currently, they are being missed. A few specific examples of the friction we encountered: A Culture of Aimlessness: There is a noticeable lack of urgency across the property. Whether at the pool or LiTO, we felt like an inconvenience. We consistently had to initiate conversations or ask questions while staff moved without any clear purpose or pace. In a five-star environment, guests shouldn't have to work this hard to be noticed. Room Service Inconsistency: We had a bizarre experience where staff called the room to ask, "Did you order room service?" only for the doorbell to ring seconds later with the food. It highlighted a total lack of internal coordination and unsure staff. Not Family-Friendly: Traveling with three children and an au pair, it was clear the property does not cater well to families. There was no warmth or proactive effort to make the stay seamless for us. Apathy at the Front of House: Walking past the reception desk, we were rarely acknowledged with a smile or a greeting. Even the valet, who had helped us depart just an hour prior, greeted me upon my return by asking if I was "checking in." It felt as though the staff were not present or engaged with who was actually staying in the hotel. Your in-room note says to "Expect the unexpected," and unfortunately, what was unexpected was the lack of care. As a recommendation from one professional to another, I would love to suggest the book "Unreasonable Hospitality" by Will Guidara to your leadership team. It is a masterclass in the intentionality required to make a property like this truly world-class. I hope this feedback is taken as a genuine prompt to look at the operational culture that is currently sitting at a 2/10 despite the 10/10 physical space.

It’s all about looks but at the centre of it you’re paying a lot of money for something that looks quality but actually is not quality. Room was not like the photos, food was average and expensive. Service was great, staff were friendly. I really had high hopes for my stay but it felt like an absolute waste of time and money.

For a hotel of your reputation and standard, this is extremely unexpected and has left me quite dissatisfied with the experience.
