Overall, it is a well designed property, however some operational functions are missing such as only 1 lift had a single working sign to illuminate which floor the lift was stopped at. This means you have to exit the lift to check the floor (no obvious signage). The room service QR codes don't work, the only way to access the menu is via the TV. Staff are super friendly, but missing a little polish when it comes to attentive service - example would be that not one opened a door for us, and generally tried to avoid eye contact. The pool side was a little disappointing - multiple people were vaping and really making it unpleasant for users. The front desk area was poorly planned, so that large groups of people are stuck trying to move from the lifts to the front doors - considering how large the food outlet and the concierge area is - the architects focussed on form instead of function. Overall - we loved our stay, we loved the design aesthetic and - but it seems that no one is in charge of these little operational issues that seem quite easy to fix. We tried both food outlets and were seriously impressed. Fantastic meals, with great team of professionals and really excellent food.

Overall, very underwhelming experience. The hotel is extremely overpriced for what it is. The rooms are nice but we booked a 2-bed room and it turned out to be interconnecting rooms, which was an awkward set up for 2 friends having a girls weekend away. Also, the room online called “sunset view” room had a view of nothing but suburbia and construction, despite the photos online showing the ocean and hinterland. It’s very misleading marketing. We checked in (reception area is tiny, crowded and uncomfortable) and then had to wait at least 5 minutes to get up the lifts, only to find out our key didn’t work for the room. We went back downstairs, had to wait in line again, got new keys, waited for the lifts and went upstairs again, only to find the keys still didn’t work for the room. After going downstairs again, we got told an engineer would come up to the room and we were told to go up to the floor and wait. 30 minutes later we finally got into the room! Staff couldn’t have cared less - there was zero urgency or recognition that guests paying $1700 a night were waiting around to get into the room. When we finally got into the room, we looked to order a bottle of wine from room service to enjoy a drink, only to find there is no wine on the room service menu (except a few bottles of champagne, one of which is $700). Options in the mini bar are very limited and unappealing, with only one wine option (Sauvignon Blanc). Instead, we went down to the pool bar. Pool is very underwhelming with very limited seating. Menu options at the pool are also extremely limited. We had pre-booked a beach bungalow for the next morning. When we called concierge that morning to ask where to go, they said come downstairs when you’re ready. When we got downstairs, they told us they didn’t know anything about it and it wasn’t set up or ready. The team seemed pretty uninterested and service was totally lacking. Once they finally got it sorted, the bungalow was a nice experience. Overall, the hotel has nice enough rooms (despite the misleading marketing online) but the reception and lift area is a nightmare. Service standards are nowhere near what they should be, particularly given the price of the hotel. Would not stay again as it’s simply not worth the money. Would not recommend to others.
