A beautiful hotel with comfortable, large rooms and a lovely bathroom, in the absolute best location. For such a classy place, this wasn’t matched with service, the lack of it completely let this place down. Reception staff felt inexperienced, inconsistent room cleaning, multiple dance party events, inability to use pool area because of events, long waits for lifts and long waits in hotel restaurant breakfast queues.

The Mondrian Hotel Gold Coast presents visually as a premium five-star property, with contemporary design and a strong luxury aesthetic. Our stay took place between Christmas and New Year. While there were individual staff members whose service met expectations, overall service delivery and operational consistency did not align with the hotel’s luxury positioning for most of the stay. During peak periods, elevator wait times regularly exceeded 25 minutes, and there were no access controls to guest accommodation floors or the car park. Afternoon periods saw high crowd density in shared areas, including the pool. Housekeeping issues occurred, including missing towels, unavailable pool towels, and the need to request refilling of in-room amenities. A rollaway bed provided for our daughter at an additional charge was not comfortable, even after a topper was added. Restaurant reservations were not suggested on arrival and were subsequently unavailable on the first night, resulting in us dining elsewhere despite wanting to eat in-house. Reception wait times were frequently 10–15 minutes. Overnight comfort was affected by reduced air-conditioning performance, external noise, and smoke drifting into the apartment from nearby balconies, preventing use of the balcony. On the final day of our stay, the hotel did take steps to address many of these issues where possible, which was appreciated. However, overall, while the property is visually impressive, the consistency of service delivery, access control, and guest comfort did not align with expectations for a five-star hotel during our stay.

I just stayed in a 1 bed apartment beachside with balcony. It was modern, clean and excellent. The seafood restaurant was ok food wise, as I didn't rate the fish. Everything else was fine.

Hectic atmosphere, long waits for lifts. Small rooms. I found the lack of any teabags in the rooms odd yet there was a kettle. That just felt cheap. Nothing about the decor felt luxurious to me. The dark corridors reminded me of W in NY in the early 2000s so that just felt dated. Long waits for responses on the chat app.
