Arrived for a 3 nights 4 days celebration of life with my wife and 7 years old son who would not leave the pool and hot bath. I had to attend a graduation ceremony at Bond Uni around 10:30 decided to go to hotel at 6:00 to drop my bags and go for a surf. As soon as arrived there was the surf coach ready to help me and told me to leave my car as it was, right there and go surfing before the wind starts, so I did. Had a surf and returned to find another friendly staff that was there and offered me a towel and told me to go to 3rd floor to have a shower and change. On the 3rd floor was a hot bath and pool, and I relaxed inside of the hot pool tank, quick swim on the pool, amazing. Had a shower, got ready, and returned to check in. Checked in, ask them to keep all my luggage in storage until my room was ready. Had an amazing breakfast. It was Wednesday morning. Drove to Bond Uni and the graduation was great, drove back and left my car in the car park at the hotel, and walk to the restaurant in burleigh hill where my friends were waiting to celebrate the graduation. Returned to hotel my room was ready and my wife and son arrived, waiting for me. For my surprise, received the great news of an upgrade for a suite, and could not really believe how amazing that was, it changed the whole experience, the room was far better than the one I booked online. That feeling of excitement and gratefulness exploded inside of us. Special thanks to Rachel that with her amazing staff, have a real sense of caring and compassion, a truly dedicated person to her job and people, someone that has a heart bigger than herself, she is amazing to say the least. Raquel Flanagan is her name and she is special. Invited her to have dinner with us, before the upgrade (we connected before at reception) and she was so busy but at the end she made it and met all my family. She did stay with is for a quick drink and ended up having a lovely time, she was emotional to see how happy we were and grateful to the whole thing. We had an amazing time, during the week the hotel is not so busy, so try to come during the week, it is calmer, less people and more relaxed. We ate all meals the hotel, and the food was amazing, specially the pool food, please try the ceviche with a cracker, the fish sandwich and the angus that comes on a stick. Could not have enough of it. I was up at 5:30 and did have the pool for myself for 3 hours, everyday. Made friends with the whole staff and all very friendly. My routine was amazing. Took my son for a bike ride right in front while I was on my electric skateboard, took my son surfing, my wife was so happy, everybody was over the moon. Thanks to Arthur, Elizabeth, Luiza, Madison, form Lido restaurant to make our meals so pleasurable and delicious, specially Arthur at dinner time that managed to accommodate us before our booking time, and make our dinners like we were having a meal at home. Elizabeth at the breakfast, was just like a mum to us, taking all the care, and we actually had a few talks, just nice people. The whole team at breakfast was so nice. At reception Summer’s smile and kindness made us happy! Thanks to Larissa from pool staff, Felipe, Thiago and whole team, and the cleaners Andre and Luis. Sorry I forgot the name of some of the other staff from the pool team but the lady from Portugal was so friendly, and the other 2 from Spain I guess. Tip: to get a good seat at the pool just wake up early, do not reserve it because the people that arrive early get pissed off when there is a reserve sign on the pool seat. Saw some arguments about it. The day we checked out was Saturday, and the whole hotel became crazy with events and other things and staff was overwhelmed but we could see that weekends are not the same as week days, so if you are planning, stay on week days. Some famous people, security, and other things happened on Saturday that didn’t happen during the week, and we actually felt it was a good time to go home, even tough, I didn’t want to go home.
