I was extremely dissatisfied to find the apartment was not what I expected for the money. The walls were marked and dirty, the ensuite had the previous persons toothpaste still on the vanity doors and handles, the carpets were dirty and the filth between the lounge cushions was next level. I have had pleasant stays in other Mantra hotels around Australia but the Grand Sierra was a let down to say the least.

I must open with stating, I have never had to write a review such as this. We booked a 2 bedroom ocean apartment on a higher level as the Web site suggested partial ocean views from level 10 and up. We were allocated 1205, the view was from the bedrooms and filthy balcony. The living room view, where you spend most of the time, looked directly at the external wall of the units in front, except for a less than partial glimmer of the ocean to the north east. We have stayed in this property before in an Airbnb and were aware that the building directly in front could block the views and when this was unavailable we booked directly with Mantra, given the picture on the web site. A little more transparency in the photos on the web site would assist people in making an informed decision when booking. Items that should have been addressed by management prior to this apartment being placed in the letting pool. The lounge was too large for the area with 1m to the kitchen bench and 1.5m to the very large TV. The lounge's electric recline didn't work. The TV could only be turned off via the actual TV not the remote control. The TV cabinet had a door missing. The fridge had large dints over the freezer door. Other than the lounge chair (leather), all soft furnishings were filthy and stained, the ottoman had fake leather peeling off, the balcony lounge had oil ? stains on the seating pads. We were unsure if the blankets on the beds were clean, so we requested fresh ones. This request was met. Blankets in all accommodation we have stayed in is normally found in the bedroom cupboard in a sealed bag stating they are clean. All of these issues were brought to the attention of the staff member on duty shortly after checkin and an apology was given. Overall, it appeared that this had been a tenanted apartment which had now been placed in the Mantra holiday letting pool with scant regard had to the cleanliness and functionality of the space for holiday letting. Our choice of Mantra Sierra was proximity to family who live on the GC. This stay was not going to be a one off holiday, it was to locate a place to stay every couple of weeks or so for a few nights. But given our experience with Mantra Sierra letting pool, we will not be booking via your site again.

No upgrades, booked for 4 adults, got 2 peach tea and 1 water as a substitute for our drinks vouchers. Had to ask for extra bedding as only sheets were on single beds, no milk provided, laundry door was broken. Construction noise outside till after 1am we wernt told about. Stayed 5 nights no exchange of towels, or daily service provided.

We very much appreciated the size of the quality and size of the apartment, and especially the high floor which gave us expansive view over the ocean and the Gold Coast Hinterland. The apartment presented very well on our arrival and I was very impressed with the innovative platinum member welcome gifts.
