Peppers Salt Resort & Spa Kingscliff 4.5 stars

Both spas in the hotel were not working. Very disappointing considering the pool temperature. Both spas. I was not aware until the last day there’s a heated pool, even though I pointed to the main pool and asked if it was heated. Very happy with the room the standard the location the staff, all facilities very limited due to COVID.

Very good, staff were great

1. On arrival we were warmly greeted, however later we found out (by wandering around the hotel ourselves) that both the bar and restaurant were closed down. Since we had driven 9 hours from Sydney, it would have been nice to have been advised on check in there was no mini bar (not even bottled water available for purchase) and there were no eating options available onsite. We could have then been directed to eating options close by - which (having never been to Kingscliff previously) we were left to find ourselves. 2. The room we checked into was absolutely filthy. There was a broom left in the hallway, water and muck all over the kitchen bench, dust (and I mean thick- not a few days worth) on the dining chairs and rubble on the floor. This was a spa room. We immediately phoned reception to advise the state of the room and showed Emily? from reception and she agreed and commented it was disgusting. We were moved to another room - but that experience stayed with us for the two days and because of the lack of confidence in the cleaning we did not even use the spa we had booked. There was no follow up apology for our room experience. I advised the contact that we had chosen Peppers with the expectation it would be spotless in light of Covid 19. I expressed our extreme disappointment. We have completely lost faith in the brand and will never be booking a Peppers stay again based on this experience.

Friendly staff, clean room- well maintained

Had a lovely time, Amos was particularly helpful in sorting out our appliances we were having trouble figuring out! Would love to return some time.

Overall a great experience, lovely room, beautiful pool area, close to restaurants and the beach. The staff at check in were fantastic. The only things I would pick out were the floor of the apartment was not clean in the corners, and the reception area is a bit cramped when people are checking in, queuing up and other guests are walking past.

Disappointing

We enjoyed our stay at Bale and would certainly return. Very easy check in, felt safe, great undercover parking.

Great staff. Great rooms and perfect grounds and facilities

We thoroughly enjoyed nearly every aspect of our sty at Peppers in Kingscliffe The rooms and accessories were 5 star, as to be expected Reception staff were very helpful and the only two disappointments were the the supposed hot/warm water swimming pool which was no warmer than the quite cold other pool. This was one of the main reasons we booked. No excuses. The other was the quality of WiFi in the evenings...extremely slow to non existent

The resort was up to very high standards and was very luxurious. They left us a complementary bottle of wine to celebrate my partners birthday. Perfect location to quality restaurants and cafes as well as a short drive to tweed heads shopping centre!

This whole experience at this hotel didn't start well, when I received an email a week earlier to state that my card had been declined for payment of this reservation. I was under the distinct impression that payment wouldn't be taken until we were at least at the hotel and this is indeed one of the reasons I chose to book here. F & B was unavailable, which I can understand in the current environment. However, we were meant to have breakfast included and we only received a breakfast pack on one day of the stay. The apartment we stayed in was a former smoking apartment and the smell permitted everything throughout the property and even into my clothes. I've since had to get several items dry cleaned. The shower in the master ensuite leaked water over the floor and cooking facilities were poor with smoke detectors too sensitive to enable enough heat for one to cook anything properly on the hot plates. The likelihood of my family staying here again is zero, which is a shame as it is a nice spot, but the facilities are somewhat past their best.
