When we arrived at our room, we were instantly hit with a musty smell. We settled in briefly into Wing 4 and I put the blinds down and was confronted with mould on the blinds. We asked reception to be moved and they were most accommodating. However, on being relocated to a disabled room in Wing 6 we were met with the same issue. Mould was again on the blinds, skirting boards look they had not been wiped down in months, mould marks on the air conditioner. The room had a very grimy feel about it. There was a smell of dust and mould coming from behind the bed. I do realise different people are sensitive to mould and dust, however, it appears the standard of Peppers at Kingscliff has slipped. We were booked in for 3 nights and only stayed 2, the reason for the departure was the lack of deep cleaning in the room.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay in Bale. It was well appointed and comfortable, spacious. We had previous stayed in the Salt suite (small apartment of the suite arrangement) this was an unpleasant, tiny and not well equipped room. Bale was perfect we were celebrating family birthdays the surrounds of our apartment and pool were well maintained and the room had a kitchen and laundry that were functional. We had a very positive experience.

Lovely, functional apartment close to amenities and beach. A few minor maintenance issues. Pantry door hinge was broken. There was a broom to clean up sand that we walked in but no dustpan to remove it, so we swept up into a corner every day. Both showers leaked when used so we needed to use the bathmats and hand towels to clean up after use. We stayed for 6 days and the room wasn't serviced so we struggled a bit with the towels and bath mats not drying out between uses. The fridge leaked with water collecting underneath.

We've stayed several times before and it was again a lovely stay. Our only complaint would be that it was not entirely clear to us at the time of booking that housekeeping was not included in the tariff.
