Knowing that the pandemic was upon us I rang to ensure what services were open and what were closed. Prior to arrival I was rung to be told that the manager was off sick and the Mantra Manager was running both places and I would have to ring when I arrived. That sort of worked smoothly. Got to the room at about 8:45 pm. No room service menu. Room service number kept cutting out. Rang and left message on reception voicemail for the menu. No call back. Rang reception again. Told the restaurant is closed due to COVID. Fair enough, but why is the kitchen closed in a 5 star hotel, when there is no restrictions with in-room dining? Met with "the restaurant is closed". Told we can get delivery from local Thai restaurant (closed). No Uber eats. No mini bar. This is simply cost cutting by the hotel owners. I can understand (barely) the inability to replace reception at short notice, but to close a kitchen in a 5 star hotel when every other 5 star I have stayed in for the last few months has in-room dining in unforgivable.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. Amos is the outstanding staff member who recommended good dinning locations and suburbs to visit. The accommodation is clean and the facilities fantastic. My wife and I will be back again. Well done Peppers.

Salt is a very 'easy' place to stay - relaxing, quiet and well appointed.

Although there was no F&B available, or movies or Foxtel, our stay was still extremely pleasurable. We always enjoy our stays at Salt, and this was no different.

Room is great, disappointed with the lack of how much was closed.

I have sent a email about my disappointment. No mini bar, no bar for a drink or snacks, the strong paint Oder. The rooms are clean, comfortable mattresses. I was just so disappointed I spent over a hour or more researching and calling to see where we could get our dinner and breakfast. Reception wasn’t helpful at all. We are returning guests and I was looking forward to a night away without my kids for sunset drinks etc this definitely was not our plans. Couldn’t even have a mini bar drink. You still charged full rates for essentially a motel stay. I understand covid has been hard but a short list of near by restaurants that are open, the mini bar supplied- it was on the booking under room description. I actually cried , this was one of my first nights in 5 years away from kids to be so disappointed. I was traveling due to a medical appointment. We were going to stay at the Gold Coast but as we love salt and it’s location we thought it was better to come back down, I was wrong.

This stay was most unusual due to COVID-19. It was only one week prior to arrival that my accommodation was confirmed. The restaurant was closed along with many of the usual amenities which changed the feel of the hotel. My deal included meals at the restaurant but I was offered an upgrade of room to compensate me which was good. Lots of maintenance work being done which was noisy and a little intrusive as curtains needed to be kept closed.

It was still a bit quiet due to Covid, but nice stay overall. Really just a night, as we arrived after 6pm and left by 8am the next morning. Quite disappointed that we booked a room with two king singles, but the beds were definitely twins. Wouldn't have booked it if I knew it would be twin beds. Restaurant was still closed.

Unfortunately because of border closures we had to restrict our stay to 1 night instead of 5 nights. The first afternoon we requested a higher room so had to take everything from one room to the other. I have to remark that I had Suvi to help me finally on this situation and she was wonderful and once again helping us with our credit back of 4 nights. She was once again wonderful and so pleasant to deal with and so helpful.

We stayed payed full price for 3 nights. We were told on arrival due to covid 19 the facilities were not available but our plunge pool was still operational. We then had the plunge pool gate locked. We understand due yo circumstances and was offered a credit of one night. We live 7 hours away so one night is not worth the drive back. We were also awoken at 8am one morning by someone mowing lawn. The staff had informed us a bottle of wine was gifted on arrival as this was our honeymoon but we had to ask twice for it. We also had a maintenance man check phones at one point as several times trying to call room service for a meal but no answer. Our aircon also did not work properly (we had informed reception twice). Again we understand how had this would be at present but we expected service to be exeptional as there was no one really there. We would love to come back but i feel one night credit (have not received yet) would not be sufficient. We would like a reply please Melissa m. Me…

Good morning, The fact is that we did not stay with you as expected... unfortunately. I was looking forward to it. I ticked off 10 as a memory of having stayed with you on a number of occasions, when we enjoyed ourselves. However, I am disappointed that the left hand does not seem to know what the right hand is doing. On three occasions I directly spoke with staff (Name can be provided of first staff member who was polite and I missed the names of the last 2). On each occasion I asked to have the call logged and I was not advised that would not happen. To the contrary, I was given to understand that would happen. Even though Luxury Escapes had the responsibility of advising you of our deferment because of Covid-19, as acknowleged by staff, I made the third call to advise of our not being able to attend as I stated at the time " Good will is a two way street" and I look forward to being the recipient of that good will at a later date. Seeing there is a fair amount of detail and in the interest of preventing any misunderstanding, I prefer to speak with a human being, rather than write, so if you wish to discuss what happened, I am more than happy to take your call on 04…. I was meant to come down but unfortunately due to covid-19 we were unable to travel, since then I’ve been on the phone to Agoda (who we booked thru) and peppers and both are saying I could get a full refund but say I need to speak the the opposite partners to get it ie peppers to Agoda and agota to peppers
