BreakFree Diamond Beach is a family friendly low rise resort, consisting of spacious and self contained 1, 2, and 3 Bedroom apartments. The resort is located on 6.5 acres nestled amongst tropical landscaping and complimented with outstanding resort facilities. Resort features include two large lagoon pools, one of which is heated all year round. Additional features include two spas, 10 barbecues, children's playground and children's novelty pool.

Broadbeach is becoming one of the Gold Coast's fastest growing resort areas, and has a reputation for being slightly more relaxed than its neighbour Surfers Paradise.

There will be light rail overnight construction occurring which may cause noise disruption until 31 Dec 2024.

Missing door in a bathroom

We booked a 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom apartment at Diamond Beach Resort, paying around $500 per night, expecting a basic level of comfort and privacy. On arrival, we were shocked to discover that the main bathroom in Apartment 143 was completely unusable — it had no door at all. The door had been entirely removed, making the bathroom impractical and unacceptable for a family or group stay. We raised this issue immediately at reception, however no solution was offered. Our request to be moved to a different apartment was declined, despite the apartment clearly not meeting minimum expectations for a paid two-bathroom accommodation. The second bathroom did have a door, but unfortunately the lock was broken, which again compromised privacy. Charging premium rates for apartments that are outdated and fail basic functional requirements is not acceptable. A bathroom without a door is not a minor issue — it renders the apartment unsuitable for its advertised purpose. This stay was extremely disappointing, and I would not recommend booking here unless management addresses these fundamental maintenance and quality issues.

Loved the apartment, facilities and location. Only feedback on the apartment (78) is that the bedrooms need block out curtains. With the carpark for the apartment building behind and other common areas with lights on all night, including sensor lights, the vertical blinds have large gaps and do not block out the light. We had to jig some pillows behind the blinds to try and minimise the light coming through. The other thing is for an apartment with carpet throughout there isnt a vacuum to use for the inevitable sand and dirt that comes in.

Staff were friendly and accomodating. I definitely appreciate their hospitality. Location to beach and the mall was convenient. I had small kids and elderly parents so was worried it might not suit them but worked out fine with a ground floor room. Pool area and playground was great. Our bedrooms got a bit warm as there was only aircon in the lounge so we blasted the air just to keep the rooms cool at night. Some of the crockery was chipped and pots scratched so probably needs replacing. Our balcony sliding door fell right off at first open, in the end we kept fitting it back on but could be a serious hazard around small kids. Overall for the price I paid our party still managed to relax and unwind so I would still consider staying here again.

We have stayed here a lot over the last 25years. The only downside now is the resort being almost surrounded by new buildings which creates shade late afternoon. Also I had a bikini bleached by a product in the spa. But I will email you separately about that.
