First of all , the staff at front desk were rude upon checking -in at around 9:30 in the evening . I was asked a 100AUD deposit and never got the money back upon checked out . Lift was stinky , fishy smells . Dark furnitures . Poor lighting in the lounge area . Not enough kitchen wares to use . Would be a bonus if staff were also friendly . Location was good but noisy . No housekeeping despite 239AUD / night .no extra rubbish bag for rubbish . Overall , it’s better to stay in Shang rila just add extra amount for a 5star accommodations rather than staying at Mantra and deal with the rude and disrespectful staff . I won’t recommend this place . No way . You need to train your staff how to treat the people with manners .

Hotel is perfectly located in the city centre, with the Chinatown tram stop directly outside. We only stayed for one night and found it clean and comfortable. We were upgraded to a suite, as we were celebrating a special Anniversary. It was spacious, well appointed and had a small balcony. We didn't hear much traffic noise. The hotel is old and could do with a refit, but the bed was comfy and the kitchenette more than adequate. The bathroom toiletries were very good. There is no lounge area in the hotel, just a small lobby, but there is secure luggage storage. I would stay here again, for a night or two.

Very big room however needs updating. Toilet roll holder broken, power points burnt out, heater not working in bedroom- can’t be adjusted. Very loud - from outside- tram and people yelling most of night and into early hours.

Comfortable Still haven't received security deposit back?

Regarding security bond, we had cancelled the holdings of your bond. Please kindly note that the $100 is meant to be a HOLDINGS AMOUNT which the bank is holding on behalf of us. The $100 will be shown as “PENDING TRANSACTION” in your bank statement and it takes approximately 3-5 business days (Australian Cards), or 10-15 days (International Cards)for the money to be reverted back. Hence, there will not be any DEBIT/CREDIT in your bank statement to be seen. For further enquired, please contact your nominated bank if pending amount still sits in your account.
