Peter M. Solo - Confirmed reviews ALL

Location- Quite confusing to access on the first visit if coming from the North (i.e. Westfield) side, including the parking. Check in- No questions asked (e.g. Have you stayed here before? or Do you know the local area?), and zero information offered (Re: location of breakfast or other hotel info or facilities, etc.) Room- Fine, though no bar soap provided for those who don't like liquid soap, and no complimentary water bottles provided. No mugs in room for coffee/tea. The actual cups provided for this purpose were way too small. The water set up was totally weird. There was a used and wet inside empty glass bottle, and (in my room a used and unwashed wet glass next to it). Apparently guests are required to traipse down to the reception area every time they want to refill this glass bottle to get drinking water. Seemed mostly about reducing hotel costs to me, at an inconvenience to guests. Breakfast- By far the worst aspect of the stay. And the issues are systemic/fixed. I had read several previous reviews across various platforms and over a period of several successive years that if you get there late, hot items are cold. So I got there right on 6:30am when they opened. Every one of the items that would normally be served hot (or should at least still be warm) were refrigerator level cold. VERY cold. Just taken out of the fridge, after having been pre-cooked in advance. Sausages, Bacon, Eggs, etc... all refrigerator cold. They were all stored in cold cast iron pots. Their breakfast set up line is pretty small/short for hot items, so I would estimate that a keep-warm set up for the hot food (like every other hotel in the world has) could be set up for a very low cost, versus the obvious absolute necessity for guests. I mean, seriously, who takes items out of a fridge that are supposed to be served hot, and just serves them up at fridge temperature, without heating them up first and serving them under a proper heating lamp or in a heated bain-marie set up? There are plug in pot warmers that cost $50 each at K-Mart that could be used to keep the posts warm if they want a plug in portable solution. Incredibly bizarre fail that defies any basic common-sense. The quality and variety of food items was not great, but was acceptable at a very basic level. The texture/quality/variety/freshness of breakfast pastries definitely needs work. Once again though, no mugs available for morning coffee/tea, and the cups were really very small. No light or skim milk available for morning cereal, for those many people who need or prefer that. Staff- Check-in staff were not great, but all other staff interacted with were very nice. Lifts- My lord these were slow. Slowest I have come across. Would I stay here again? I paid a reasonable price, but would only stay again for single-night stays, and only when I had something that required me to be in this local area. And I'd 100% skip the breakfast, until they fix what is such a necessary and easily fixable issue.

Dear Peter M., Thank you for taking the time to provide such comprehensive feedback regarding your recent stay with us. We truly value detailed insights like yours as they help us identify exactly where we need to improve. Arrival and Check-in I am sorry to hear that your first impression was hampered by a confusing arrival and a lack of information at the front desk. We aim to provide a warm, informative welcome, and it is clear we missed the mark during your check-in. I will be reviewing this with our front office team to ensure our arrival standards—including basic local and hotel orientation—are consistently met. Room Amenities and Water Service Your comments regarding the room setup are noted. While we have moved toward a sustainable glass-bottle water system to reduce plastic waste, I sincerely apologize that the glassware in your room was not properly cleaned. This is a lapse in our housekeeping standards which has been addressed with our executive housekeeper. We also appreciate your feedback regarding the size of our tea and coffee cups; we are currently reviewing our in-room amenities to better suit our guests' needs. Breakfast Experience I am particularly concerned to hear about the temperature of our hot breakfast items. Serving cold food is entirely unacceptable. We have recently implemented a new rotational menu and increased our breakfast offerings, but it is clear that our heating and presentation methods failed during your visit. I have shared your feedback—specifically regarding the cast iron pots and the need for consistent heat—with our Executive Chef to ensure our buffet setup is functioning correctly and that food is served at the proper temperature throughout the service. We are also looking into adding a wider variety of milk and pastry options based on your suggestions. Lifts and Staff While I am glad to hear that most of our team members were pleasant, I apologize for the slow lift speeds and the underwhelming check-in. We appreciate your honesty about only choosing to stay for short visits in the future. We would love the opportunity to change your mind and show you a much-improved breakfast experience. Please feel free to reach out to me directly if you wish to discuss your stay further Regards Dinesh Gandhi General Manager
