From the moment we arrived we knew this was going to be a good experience. Attentive reception staff, impressive reception area, and not having to wear wrist bands, silly point put it gave us the impression of a well run hotel complex.

Rixos sungate is a lovely, well maintained resort. However, when half the slides are closed and the Rixy dining experience closed, it's not the best for children in their school holidays or was very disappointing. The noise from the disco until 2am was awful keeping everyone awake, and there were only 3 live shows in our stay making evenings boring. Very hard to book the included a la carte. Issues with staff not helping when other customers or their children pushing in to queues or shouting and running around the haman. Should have been amazing, but very much failed to meet our expectations.

Was stated as 5 star but were we stayed its no where near that rating ,the staff were very pleasent and accomardating no complaints there ,dinner time was a bit free for all

Service was poor most times in restaurant we were never offered drinks until the end of our meal. The marina pool bar staff were so slow and often at times not enough to serve everyone. No variety to food each day at restaurant made it really boring too. Our shower door was broken and when we reported it to reception the sent someone to fix it so I had to phone again the following day. Probably the poorest 5 star hotel I’ve stayed at.

Unfortunately I feel really let down by TUI in respect of the quality of the hotel. We feel we were misled about the 5 star reference, because there were so many things we picked up on which do not indicate a 5 star experience. To make it easier, the only thing about Rixos Sungate was the Rixy Kids Club, but unfortunately that’s it! The food, the rooms, building maintenance and upkeep, some staff, most of the pool areas and sun loungers at best could be 4 star. We have stayed at other Rixos hotels elsewhere in the world so have a good comprehension of what 5 star at a Rixos feels like, and sadly we overpaid on this hotel as we didn’t feel the price charged was reflective of a 5 star price tag! Sorry but we won’t be recommending the hotel!
