We stayed in the same room as our previous stay and both times we requested the room to be vacuumed - this did not happen. Also last stay we reported that the toilet seat had a massive noise when you sat on it - we reported it last time however this stay it remained the same.

The hotel is in the center of the city and beside the Hyde Park. You can visit the city center, Hyde Park, Circular Quay Wharf and Sydney Opera House by walking. The room view to the Hyde Park was so beautiful. House keeping is doing their job very well. Continental breakfast is so delicious and you can chose withnin very savory options. We thank Ms. Roxana for her delicious breakfast service, which she made even more enjoyable with her warm welcome. All the functions in the room like curtains, light, temprature, television etc. can be controlled by just tablet from where you are sitting. Reception agents are very helpfull. We thank to all the staff who contributed our stay in a very good manner very much.

I decided to start switching my room nights from Hilton (where I’m a Gold member) to Accor as I’m visiting Sydney more and Hilton really only has 2 properties in the CBD. I want to have more choice. The location of Porter House is great. But my overall experience was mediocre. There was no acknowledgment of being a member when I arrived. The checkin experience was otherwise great - the person (a guy from Milan) on the desk was really pleasant to deal with. Eventually we were given an early checkin which was appreciated. It was also a nice touch to have a welcome bottle of wine waiting! Thank you. Cafe staff were also great. Room servicing was kind of hit and miss. Our minibar area was used on day 1 and not cleaned. On the day of checkout (about 6:45am) a staff member barged into the elevator on ground floor even though it was obvious we were exiting and I was struggling with my bag - he didn’t wait for my partner or myself to exit. Kind of a weird experience where hotel staff or normally more helpful and patient. I’m guessing he was also the person on duty because when we got to the desk there was no one there and we had to stand there waiting for awhile. Eventually someone arrived and they seemed surprised also that we were waiting and she proceeded to handle our checkout promptly. She was really nice to interact with. The departure experience stayed with me and unfortunately is the memory I took with me of my experience at Porter House. I’d probably stay again but I’ll be checking other Accor options first.
