A beautiful place with poor follow through

We stayed for 2 nights. It is a very beautiful resort. Everything starts great but then the follow through really makes for a poor experience. Our names and room number were remembered by all staff. However, we got sick from the food (both ends) and were told a nurse would be at our room in 5 minutes. Suddenly our room phone would not connect to the front desk. She arrived over 2 hours later. When she arrived she did not have anything to treat us with other than a blood pressure cuff. She said she would stop by at 8 am to check on us but she never did. Our power in the room kept going on and off. And lastly, we were told by concierge that someone would come to our room 15 minutes before out catamaran ride back to Cartagena to take our luggage and take us to the dock. No one ever arrived... 5 minutes before our catamaran was to leave we decided to just take our luggage and walk to the dock ourselves. No one ever arrived there from the hotel but the boat and the captain were there. For the price of this hotel per night it would do them good to be a lot more buttoned up. Unfortunately we will not be returning to Sofitel at this location due to our experience here.

We had a wonderful time, the concierge service was the best thing in helping us plan our activities and helping us feel safe when we went into Cartagena. We were surprised of the quality of materials in the rooms, the cabinetry felt cheap, our closed had a crack, the magnet closures broke, glass doors were hard to close.
