We spent four days at the Santa Clara. The people were very welcoming and friendly. Our room was excellent on the 4th floor with the pool in front and the ocean in the distance. We had a little dog with us and the hotel staff could not have been more accommodating We loved the breakfast but because of our dog, we found the local restaurants not so pet friendly. This became no problem as we had dinner every night in the garden of the hotel restaurant. We booked a day at the Sofitel in Baru’ and arrived by boat. Despite the boat capacity was 20 people, we were alone both ways which was wonderful! We would book this trip at the Santa Clara again. The beach was great, the pools very nice and the service was very good. The Santa Clara was very clean and well cared for. We were surprised at the lack of music in the main floor restaurant where we ate most of our meals. Some nice classical music would have added even more atmosphere and elegance in our opinion. Jazz would be nice too. Recorded music is better in that area as live music is limited and often distracting we believe. Live soft piano would be nice as well. We wished the open air bar on the oceanside of the pool had been available for guests and maybe it is when not ocuppied by prívate events. It wasn’t clear where the other hotel restaurants were located as we spent all our time in the garden area to eat. Maybe they were not open? In summary, we loved our stay and will return to the Santa Clara. We see there is a new 4 Seasons opening soon and we looked online to see. Of course it will be nice but we prefer the history and friendly nature of the Santa Clara as it appears a little “sterile” to us with “views” only to the garden available. See you again!
