The staff went above and beyond. We were upgraded free of charge as the first room we had did not meet our expectations. The hotel itself is beautiful, the architecture of the building and the gardens are spectatcular. It is getting ready for a make over in parts which we were told is planned next year. Our room had already been renovated, it was spacious clean and very comfortable.

location was perfect, close to many nightlife spots and cafes/local fare. i would come back to surbaya just to stay in the hotel. felt the heritage and history of the hotel, and was very comfortable in the rooms which were well maintained. service was impeccable, especially from aurel, one of the staff.
