Everything thing about the hotel was excellent. The front deck, the restaurant, the pool, the cleaning staffs were very courteous and nice. The beack front was beautiful. The room service was very good. The room and toilets was beautiful and clean. The views from the room and pool were awesome. Overall had an excellent stay.

Against all the advices (from travel agencies and friends from Cambodia and outside of Cambodia), we decided to stay in Sihanoukville 3 days before going to the islands, as my parents have relatives living in the city. What a shock, for us, Europeans to witness the ugliness ! Nevertheless, the Novotel is a little piece of paradise in the middle of the Chinese turmoil. The whole team is fantastic, especially Mister Cholsa, Mister Jesse, and our driver Mister Ly Phiron. The only problem you have is the clients. Chinese clients don’t behave, for example, they just lie on the sofa at the entrance with feet on it. We were disturb the whole night as they were screaming in their room next to ours, until 1-2:00 AM in the morning. A disaster. But what could you do?! Good luck, you are too good for such clients. A waste. Hopefully your staff will survive.

The staff and service is very nice, easy to communicate. The room is always nice and clean from the times I have chose to stay in hotel for more than twice so far. The view is amazing as well, I just love it!

That one is issue is when we first got to the hotel and was welcomed with 5-6 smokers outside at the front door. They were almost your customers but the staff said “we try to ask them to smoke on side not straight in front of the door”. But in opinion, that side area was not that far from the front door; there should be a designated place further away from where people come and go. It was not a good impression, not good for the health of others, and makes me question Novotel brand. There was no sign to say no smoking and there’s even a smoke tray stand for it, which further encourage the action. Furthermore, I heard lots of customers staying tend to smoke in room despite the sign saying “no smoking, penalty 300USD”. I suggest increasing that penalty.
