We really liked the room, but we had booked a sea-view and ended up with one facing the garden exit, which was a bit disappointing. The late check-out was a great perk. The gym was surprisingly good for a hotel, and breakfast was about a 7/10 (I am quite picky!). The cocktails were amazing, and the staff were genuinely lovely and friendly.

First time there, treating my partner to a special night away. Good service but not amazing. Had to ask reception a lot of questions at check in I.e what time is breakfast, where are the bars, where is dinner, how do we get there, where are the spa facilities etc. 5* should have this covered in the welcome speech when checking you in. Dinner was a the downfall. My rib eye steak was over cooked not once but twice!! The manager was amazing, floor staff great too. The chef, not great though. Great service recovery from the team but just not what you would expect at a 5 star.

This was a brief two-night stay to visit a town we’d never been to before. As regular members of Accor we always stay in Mir-range hotels in the chain so the Fairmont was something of a revelation. The scale of the building especially the interior design was an experience in itself. Our upper floor standard room was spacious & lacked for nothing in terms of comfort & bathroom details. Nothing had been overlooked. The staff were excellent if a little too attentive at times but always smiling & helpful. We used the excellent shuttle service to & from the hotel as we didn’t travel to Scotland by car. We enjoyed the fine breakfasts & ate in-house each of the two evenings. We were on a budget & found the food prices were very high especially as the portions were relatively small. This especially applied to the Italian restaurant where two mains & two drinks came to not far short of £80. Many of your patrons would not take issue with this aspect of the hotel but money is tighter for us. We enjoyed our stay & the overall experience and would certainly recommend the hotel to friends as a worthwhile visit. Congratulations to all concerned.

This was a special occasion and we took a chance and booked a different hotel. So glad we did. Location was great, staff were friendly and fun and hotel was beautiful. The food was lovely, nice portion sizes, and the breakfast was one of the best I've had. The best selection I've seen. Would definitely recommend this hotel and stay again. A credit to all staff.

Myself and my partner were greeted by Jamie when we first arrived, he was so informative and kind as we had let him know this was our first time staying at the fairmont! We even got an earlier check in which worked out perfectly as we had spa treatments at 4pm which were lovely we felt so relaxed and recharged which is exactly what we needed before our baby arrives in January.
