Was disappointed at check in experience. We had been sent an email to request upgrade. 1st option was early check in. However you only know this at the point of check in. Seems a bit ridiculous as you can’t then plan your day as unaware if you have it. We did not receive the online requested room upgrade which is fine but we were then allocated a room which was not what we had paid for. At check in there was a bit of hushed discussion between staff prior to giving us the key and our impression was that the room which we had paid for was not available and we were being put into a lower rated room. We went to 1st room but it was not what we had paid for. We were then offered a 2nd room which we accepted. This room was tired and in need of some TLC however it was a sea view king and was very clean. The sea view description needs to be reviewed. It’s a partial sea view and only if standing right at the window. You cannot see it when sitting. Breakfast was lovely. Room was spotless and cleaned every day. Noise in room especially at night from neighbouring room doors banging shut. Bars soulless and empty at times. Gym had brilliant equipment.
