I had organised this stay for my partners 30th birthday as a surprise. I had arrange for balloons & decorations and a few other bits to be in the room for our arrival. The hotel ended up forgetting about them and I had to phone to ask for them. Our room was lovely, clean and comfortable. We had excellent stay in the spa annd great highland fling treatment. Although the pool was a little chilly. We had an excellent lunch at the bar beside reception when we arrived and could not fault it there at all. But unfortunately we went to the club house for dinner which was very disappointing. Forgetting about our starters and bringing Mains first, wrong drinks and wrong deserts. The steak was pleasant but definitely had nicer for the price. Wasn’t cooked the best. Cocktail menu was so disappointing. Breakfast the next morning was lovely. No faults at all. Over all our stay was nice but expected a lot more and was left feeling a bit disappointed especially it being for my partners 30th.

Nearly every member of staff we encountered was excellent. The room was nice, but very tired - wardrobe handle was loose. In the bathroom (which was a good size), the toilet was wobbly and the floor tiles were loose. Breakfast was great and service was good. But the Mediterranean restaurant food was terrible, although the staff were lovely. Starter was changed without question, which we appreciated. The main porccetta was dry and, I suspect, reheated and the side “roasted” vegetables were oily and raw. We couldn’t bring ourselves to complain again because the staff are so nice. We cancelled our dinner on the second night for fear it would be a total waste of time and money. Breakfast was good. Pool was great. Location is good, even though we don’t play golf. People make a hotel and all the staff (apart from a grumpy barman) were great. If the other issues are resolved, it would be a brilliant place to stay. I don’t usually write reviews, but you chased and caught me on a Sunday night! I would be happy to discuss, if it would be helpful.

Stayed in this hotel over last 10years and good to go back with a fully refurbished bathroom. We never enjoyed the food in our previous experience and not expectation this time as well. We had dinner in the Clubhouse & Grill, food was delicious when the kitchen got it right. Breakfast in the morning was very disappointed, arrived 8:30am restaurant was less than half full, no queue and staffs wasn’t busy but still wait 5-10mins to get a table. The food in the buffet area was very poor quality and sad looking. We order from the menu hope will be better, then the food arrived in a unappetising, the fried eggs looks like been sitting under the heated lamp for hours, is dry and rubbery. Same as bacon and sausages etc. we end up walked out without eating anything.
