Wonderful 2 day stay over Christmas Day. A bit of a queue at checkin- but after that, no issues at all. Christmas Day lunch was great. Wasn’t sure how it would work with buffet for starters and desserts but it was very efficient. Plenty of food. Unfortunately couldn’t manage much in the way of desserts but they looked amazing. We had lunch at 2.30 and were still full going to bed. No need for any tea or room service food. There were loads of staff and the main course came promptly when we asked for it. This is the first time we have gone away for Christmas rather than having it at home or with family and we thoroughly enjoyed it

Just returned from the worst Christmas experience ever. Christmas dinner would have been better at a works canteen. Obviously all about charging as much as possible, and giving the least possible. I heard lots of complaints, not sure how many people would voice them. We had to order room service pizza as everyone was hungry by 10pm … Won’t be returning 5star hotel with 2star standards…

Wow! This was our 6th year coming to stay for Christmas to see Santa and it didn't disappoint. We were really worried following the changes made this year to the Santa experiences. We couldn't justify paying for the grotto experience, knowing what it had cost us in the past. We opted to do the afternoon tea with Santa and although lovely, wasn't really our sons things. We were able to check in early which was great and the lovely Colleen organised for us to be able to visit Santa in his grotto after all. The look on my son's face when we told him was priceless! It made his whole trip. So thank you Colleen! Another great surprise was the changes to the kids play area. My son LOVED the bouncy castle. We visited it multiple times a day. We love getting a suite at Christmas, so that we have a tree in our room. We always have a cosy night in our matching pj's with room service which our little boy loves. Breakfast was fantastic as always. We decided to do earlier than usual to avoid the crowds and there was something magical about having breakfast in the dark. I had to change my spa treatment last minute and the staff were super accommodating. I changed to the North Sea hot stone massage with Sinead which was fantastic as always. I want to say another thank you to Victoria the spa manager. She went above and beyond following a slight mishap on my birthday in April. She came out to have a chat with me as I was checking in which was really lovely. Dinner at La Cucina was great and the staff at Kittocks were attentive as always. It really was a fantastic stay. We really hope the Santa grotto experience goes back to the normal format next year. It was sad seeing very few kids visit. Our trip definitely wouldn't have been the same if hadn't been for Colleen arranging for us to go. So thank you again.

Check in staff absolutely lovely, I mentioned it was for mums Birthday could they get restaurant to put happy birthday on her dessert, they went above and put balloons and card in room, so grateful. Unfortunately the Spa let the hotel down, the tiles in the steam room loose very easily could cut someones foot, as several very uneven and dirty, spoke with a gentleman who was a member said this had been reported several weeks ago. There were no cups for water,checked several times through our visit, tok several attempts to get clean towel, not something at epect from such a wel repected hotel. The room. I was slightly disappointed as the bed sheet was ripped, the skirting in the room was marled along the back,black scuff marks just something I didn't expect from yourself, sound petty but these things make your stay, first impression wasnt great, i wanted the WOW fir mum and you didas a room deliver. I did take a picture as it was shabby and didn't want mum or myself getting the blame for it. I did mention it on checkout about the bed didn't want to complain as such but yes the room and spa really did let you down, I'm just so glad you have amazing reception staff as they made mums Birthday stay special ❤️ with their very kind gesture, it was very much appreciated x
