The hotel setting is exceptional and rooms are massive. Although we experienced a few issues. The plug in the sink in the bathroom jammed and couldn’t drain the sink. The soap holder in shower was hanging off wall also. We visited Kittochs Den at around 2200 hours, however waited in excess of 20 mins to be served despite lots of staff around. We had breakfast the following morning and service was initially great but weren’t able to place our main item order in a timely manner as our server was AWOL and the member of staff that we flagged down said he would have to get our dedicated server to take the order. We got the pancakes and the vanilla crème fraiche was missing but we only noticed this after the fact. Apart from this the facilities were spot on and we would re visit. Upon returning home, I have noticed that the full room amount was debited upon booking online as it was a last min booking. However upon checkout the room amount was charged again and currently I have been double charged. I raised this over 24hrs ago and have hear d nothing back.

We had a wonderful stay, and it was fantastic to see so many activities available for families. My three-year-old daughter thoroughly enjoyed the balloon artists, bouncy castle, and especially the story time sessions.
Having visited the hotel regularly, we noticed a real improvement in the attention to detail during this stay. From the fully stocked in-room minibar to the children’s activities, live singer, and scheduled entertainment, these thoughtful touches really enhanced our experience.
The atrium looked lovely, particularly with the addition of the champagne bar. It was just a shame that there didn’t appear to be a member of staff available to serve at the bar during our stay, as it would have been the perfect place to enjoy a drink after our meal.
We dined at St Andrews Bar and Grill, where we received excellent service and enjoyed a delicious meal.
Overall, we had a fantastic stay and really appreciated the effort that had gone into making the experience enjoyable for families. We look forward to visiting again!

We had a great stay at The Fairmont, St Andrew's. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the room and en-suite were comfortable and spacious.
The meal we had in La Cucina was lovely with generous portions.
We enjoyed the spa the following morning which a great way to start the day.
There was a fantastic choice at breakfast whether it was from the buffet or al la carte.

The rooms were nice but both nights my friends (other guests) tried eating / drinking at the hotel restaurant / bar and the service BOTH nights were horrible. The one night we had ordered drinks and appetizers and hour and half before our dinner departure and we had to cancel the order b/c it NEVER came. I complained to the manager on duty and she told me that they did not have enough staff. Both Nights? Don't call yourself a Fairmont if your bar/restaurant cant provide the service that it is supposed to.

I was really disappointed that you held onto a deposit that you took for me staying for 7 days. I had no charges to my room and you did not refund my account for 7 days. Good way for you to make interest but not a good way to treat clients.

Beautiful spacious hotel. Children loved the breakfast buffet. Having stayed previously we chose to eat lunch & dinner elsewhere. Childrens entertainment available but with very little communication and timings strange

Another great stay at the Fairmont. The activities that were available for the kids during the holidays were very welcomed. The only gripe I have, and this is more because we do like to come back again and again to the hotel, is that some of the rooms do need a bit of a refreshment. Our bedding was all ripped and frayed at the bottom, which really should not be the case. It's not something that would stop us from coming back (we are back for New Year) but I do think its valuable feedback to give. Also I have left a pair of trainers and an Iphone charger in my room. I called when I returned home on the Saturday as I noticed I never packed the trainers. It was logged but I have since called back Sunday and Monday and nothing has been 'found'. This is a bit of a disappointment. I am hoping I get a call soon to say they have been recovered.

I couldn’t book a room for 1 adult and 2 children using the website - I got around this by booking for 2 adults and 1 child instead. When I mentioned this at check in they said this was a known issue and I should just phone in future. In this day and age not having a functioning website booking system is really poor. The hotel was comfortable, extra activities for the children were really good. It was a shame that there are not more options for dining in the evening as the Italian was fully booked and so we had to eat in the bar which was fine. My biggest problem was at check out. I was told I would be charged for an extra bed. When I explained I had booked for 3 people so didn’t have an “extra bed” but a king bed and a pull out bed, she explained that this incurs a £30 charge. I asked why I hadn’t been provided a bed per person per my original booking and she said that the charge was for the third bed. I asked whether she expected 3 of us to sleep in the king bed and she explained they would. I find this utterly disappointing and unbelievable for a 5 star hotel. To book for 3 people and be expected to all sleep in one bed or pay extra. I have stayed in a number of hotels over the years and never experienced this type of comment not charge for a bed which was not technically additional (as I had booked for 3 people). Such a shame as this really let down the hotel and the whole experience. I would definitely think twice before booking again which is a shame as overall the hotel is lovely.

We had an amazing stay at the Fairmont. The staff were so welcoming and the breakfasts were delicious. The room was luxurious and well equipped. Perfect for our short trip to St Andrews. The only downside was the quality of food in the bar area. Quite disappointing and not the calibre we would expect in a 5* establishment.

Our room was amazing and clean, staff friendly and helpful, hotel facilities and various things on were excellent. We did though have a slightly poorer experience in the main bar where all tables were being reserved for meals atpund 5.00pm leaving almost none left for a drink. And being offered the sports bar instead was not ideal as we were looking to enjoy the main bar. While we did nanage to get on a table beside another couple. we did notice though that a lot of these tables remained empty for several hours despite being reserved. Very confused as to why we could not temporarily sit there and move at booked time when only having a drink as we stated at the time. There needs to more options for a drink if its being booked.
