With the exception of covid , this annual visit was our sixth or seventh as we come up to the Salutation Hotel for our church annual general assembly. Mercure has always been our preferred place to stay simply because of the parking facilities and the breakfast staff whom we have got to know over our visits.

The bar and restaurant were really nice, sadly the rooms were a let down. I feel the rooms need some TLC, outdated décor and the bathrooms in poor condition

Old, Tired, Poor Quality

The hotel is well situated in the centre of Perth, the Bar area is the highlight of the hotel but it is a bit dark and the carpets, furniture and decoration are all a bit old and tired. I've been to the hotel over the last 20 years and I don't recall the Bar area changing much (if at all) in that time. The rooms are dreadful, old worn carpets, poor lighting, old furniture and very old bathrooms. The showers (particularly on the 2nd Floor) give a very poor flow of water. I use the hotel for business but would not stay if I was paying with my own money. The hotel owners should stay in a room for a couple of nights and then try the Holiday Inn Express and the Premier Inn.

Nice place to stay, historic building, room and bathroom in need of some refurbishments, good location, limited parking space in case you arrive by car, located in city centre, friendly staff, walking distance to restaurants and shops
