Wee overnight in Perth

I stayed in rm 15 that could do with an update, saying that my work colleagues rooms were great complete with dressing gown and slippers. The reception staff were lovely and welcoming and the girls on the restaurant were friendly and very helpful, Sofia and Tamzin. The food was great also, I would stay again and ask for modern room.

Enjoyed a good meal in the restaurant with excellent very friendly service from Tamzin and Sofiia. Finding a place to eat in Perth is not easy and so would not normally eat in a hotel, but this was a very nice surprise that I would recommend trying out.

A great wee break

Just spent 5 nights at this hotel while visiting family and friends in Perth. Cannot speak highly enough about this place. A fascinating venue in itself, the warm welcome and can do approach of Chloe, Tamsin and the rest of the team made my stay. Nothing was too much trouble. Ate in Sunday evening and was very impressed by the fare. I definitely intend going back (especially if it means St Johnstone winning!). Top marks all round.

Dear Guest, Thank you for the great review of our hotel after your stayover while visiting friends and family in the area, plus the bonus of the local team winning that weekend! We are glad to read that our team went above and beyond for you with special mention to Chloe and Tamzin. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you again very soon. Kind Regards, Team Mercure Perth, Scotland

We arrived early and the staff kindly held our luggage so we could explore the centre of town. We enjoyed a welcome drink after check-in and the settled into our room. The room was small, but cozy and comfortable. The back garden is quaint, a quiet retreat in the centre of Perth. The history of the spot added a dimension of interest to our stay and it was fun to see the stream running beneath the building.

Dear Kathryn, Thank you for the great review of our hotel! We are glad that you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you again very soon. Kind Regards, Team Mercure Perth, Scotland

Poor check in experience

We have stayed here before and enjoyed our visit largely because of the central location. We booked a Privilege room for this visit through Expedia. When we arrived to check in we were advised that there was no Privilege room available. They only have two apparently. The receptionist lady who was also the duty manager just said that there was nothing she could do and that we should take it up with Expedia. When we suggested that she really needed to do something, she became quite defensive. She disappeared from the area for some time and eventually came back and offered two complimentary drinks from the bar by way of compensation. We accepted and got on with our stay. Had she been more professional and looked for a solution initially rather than just passing the blame onto Expedia we could have avoided a n awkward situation. Staff training in problem resolution is needed. The rest of the hotel is acceptable the rooms are ok but bathrooms really need upgraded.

Dear Guest, Thankyou for taking the time to leave us a review following your stayover. Whilst we are sorry to read of the issues faced, having looked into this you have booked and selected a privilege room DBA which you were allocated in as per room booking. The room in which you were looking for was a superior double DBB. The receptionist made you aware of this and unfortunately both of the above upgrades for this room style were in use. If these were available we would have offered the further upgrade to the room you were looking for having not booked this room type. We also offered other solutions for you and complimentary drink vouchers as a gesture of goodwill from the hotel. Kind Regards, Team Mercure Perth Scotland
