The hotel was beautiful, had a lovely stay. The staff was amazing, and gave us such a unique experience. My husband really enjoyed staying at the hotel where his grandfather (Frank Schnell) worked from 19…, when he had a stroke during a banquet. Now we just need to go stay at Banff Springs Hotel where Frank would go to during the summers for special international functions. Also where my grandmother Nina Black use to paint with A.Y. Jackson and Emily Carr in the 40's.

Great hotel, great amenities unfortunately our bathroom was so small we had to sit on the toilet sideways! There was less then 2” between the toilet and the shower and this was an upgraded room. If we come back we will not upgrade.

Check in staff are friendly. Room was clean. No coffee maker in the room and bed was not comfortable, lumpy. The lobby was very noisy...either a piano player or something going on which made it quite difficult to have a conversation in the lobby.

The room was nice, it wasn’t anything spectacular, the hotel itself was beautiful, but the staff is what makes this place go. From the front desk, to the housekeeping, to the bell desk staff, to the in room dining staff, they are the ones that make this place special. They always treated me and my party with the utmost respect and made us all feel so comfortable while staying here. I would stay here again because of the staff.

We absolutely love the Fairmont properties and have stayed at many locations in North America with our family. The staff was welcoming. The service was flawless. We loved our room and the view! We enjoyed breakfast on the 18th floor each morning and also some live music on Friday night. We can't wait to return soon!

We arrived at 3:30 pm and could not check in to our room, promised it would be ready by 4 pm. By 4:20 we had to ask and our room was still not ready; so they gave me another room. I was booked into a luxury queen and I did not receive a luxury room. I was on the 3rd floor, hardly any hot water in the shower and carpet was old and musty. Very disappointed.

A significant negative is the high ambient noise level in the public spaces: the thumping music in the lobby and most of the restaurants and bars is unnecessary, annoying, and sometimes intolerable. We walked out of the Library Bar before even being seated: as G K Chesterton wrote, "music with dinner is an insult both to the cook and the violinist".
