Our room was fine and contained all the elements we have come to expect from fine hotels. The only odd thing we noticed was the positioning of the toilet rolls. Where the toilet is located, you have to be a contortionist to grab the toilet paper. The bathroom is small and I don't know how you can fix this issue, but it is an issue and strange to find in such a quality hotel.

The hotel is conveniently located and has a vibrant atmosphere. I was staying at the hotel for meetings, as I have done many times before. This time, the service did not match the Fairmont’s usual standards. Checking in was slow as only one staff member was at the desk. The room was clean and bed comfortable. Unfortunately, I didn’t realize until the next morning that the shower was broken (tap was sitting on the floor) and the clothes steamer was also broken. When I checked out, which was speedy, their first response was to ask me if I had already mentioned the issues (no - I needed to get to my meetings and didn’t have time for a maintenance call). They then thanked me for mentioning the problems but didn’t apologize for the inconvenience. Next stop was the bell desk, which had a long line to drop off luggage. It may be that the hotel is overwhelmed with the upcoming World Cup, but I am used to better service at a Fairmont than I experienced this time.

Unfortunately the overall experience for this trip is a 6 or 7 for me this time around. I have recently switched to All Accor from Bonvoy. At 3:30am the alarm went off and it was quite loud in the room adjacent to me. Further to this there was no coffee pods in the room. I travel mostly for business and I work from the room most of the time when not in meeting or hosting an event so I look for accommodations that fit those needs. I will be back in the summer for a family trip to possibly Montebello. This would be my second stay with All Accor so far.
