Not as good as previous time

This is the second time we held an event at the Novotel. The first time was in September and the food & beverage was fabulous but the AV was not great. This time the AV support was great but the food & beverage was not as good. Unfortunately, there was not enough soup or sandwiches sent out. There were at least 5 people who had not had anything and had to wait a considerable amount of time before more food came. The wait staff seemed to be more concerned with refilling the pop rather than the soup and sandwich platters which were completely empty. I was eventually told that there had been a mishap in the kitchen and a whole tray of sandwiches were dropped, however, that would have been one type and doesn't explain the soup. There was a large pot of soup in September for a smaller group than there was in November. The chef did some out later and apologize as it was his first day and they offered to cover the cost of the candy bar. A minor point, but our contract indicated Five (5) welcome amenities, Hotel choice. In September this amounted to a small box of macarons and in November there was nothing my room. I have not asked the other people if they received anything but they would have mentioned if they had.
