The room was good. On arrival as a welcome gift we were given a small bottle of water & told if we needed more they would give us more at reception. When we asked for more water the next day we were told that it was 2 euros 80cents for a bottle. The Hotel only services the rooms after you have stayed 4 nights. We stayed 4 nights so our room wasn’t serviced. The bins weren’t emptied, towels not replaced & the bed wasn’t made. The breakfast was also of a poor standard. As a Gold member I couldn’t recommend this hotel. If we hadn’t prepaid we would have checked out early.

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your impressions with us so candidly. Every day, we and our staff are deeply committed to ensuring that our guests enjoy a smooth and pleasant stay that meets the global Novotel standard. In fact, this year—like almost all of our direct competitors in Regensburg in recent years and months—we have switched to the aforementioned 3-day cleaning cycle and are clearly communicating this change via signs at check-in. This decision was not an easy one for us, and it was NOT primarily driven by sustainability considerations or initiatives from Accor or us as hotel operators; rather, it was unfortunately necessary because, as a hotel business, we could no longer fully pass on the sharp increases in labor, energy, and other costs to our guests. However, we can assure you that the basic hygiene of the rooms will not be compromised by this new cleaning cycle, and the rooms will always be in immaculate condition upon the arrival of new guests. As described in the electronic guest information in your room, we are still happy to bring fresh towels, toilet paper, and all other amenities to your room upon request, and coffee, tea, and all other items are available at the front desk for quick pickup. In fact, as a welcome gesture, our guests will find a 0.5-liter bottle of MINERAL water and a stocked minibar upon arrival. In addition, we sell bottled MINERAL water at our lobby kiosk for a reasonable 2.80 euros; However, the tap water in our hotel—as everywhere in Germany—is of drinking water quality and can be enjoyed straight from the tap as mentioned in the electronic guest directory as well. There is also a large dispenser at the front desk offering chilled tap water free of charge. We regret that, from your perspective—unlike that of most of our other guests (the hotel has been voted the best-rated Novotel hotels in the DACH region for each of the past three years)—we were unable to meet your desired and expected level of hospitality.
