I was part of a big group in town for a conference, and much of the hotel was booked by my colleagues. As soon as my colleague and I found out we had to change our travel plans, our office contacted the hotel to try to alter our reservation so that we could check out a day early. Rather than seek to accommodate our unexpected change in plans or take into account our company's large book of business with them, the management insisted that we had to pay 90% of the room rate for the canceled night. This is not the way to secure repeat business.

Dear Ms. C., Thank you for taking the time to comment on your stay at our hotel. We understand how unpleasant and frustrating it can be when travel plans have to be changed at short notice. Our reservation conditions clearly specify and communicate the terms and conditions for changes to arrival or departure dates, and clearly indicate any costs that may be incurred. Of course, we always endeavor to find other solutions to such challenges, free of charge where possible. However, in your case, this was simply not possible due to the short notice, and therefore the contractual cancellation fees had to be charged. We naturally regret this circumstance, just as we regret how much this regulation seems to have affected your entire stay at our hotel, as we can deduce from the consistently poor ratings in the individual points of the stay. We would like to express once again our regret for the costs you incurred due to your last-minute changes, which in this case were unfortunately simply part of the mutual fulfillment of the contract, even between two closely related partners, and were therefore unavoidable for us. We simply hope for your understanding and would be delighted to welcome you back to our hotel at some point in the future. The team at ibis Regensburg Zentrum

Everything was great. The only problem I had is breakfast. Breakfast price is really high compared to what is being served. Throughout all week, breakfast options have not changed even sightliest.. While it was advertised that there is a diverse breakfast menu - it was complete opposite, warm food there were only basically only eggs and bacon.
