We have stayed at Pullman KLCC several times and we always wanted to try out Sofitel Damansara. We liked Bukit Bintang area so much, we by default go for Pullman. This time we were determined to try Sofitel Damansara and it worked well. We had club lounge access but we’re still on 10th floor😔- we expected higher floor. Grab taxi from Pullman to Sofitel took 20 minutes and MYR13. Check-in was smooth and the hotel was lovely. The rooms were polished and spotless. Very comfortable bed. The breakfast was classy, and certainly better than Pullman. The club lounge staff were very courteous and understanding. My wife has some special diet requirements. They could accommodate her needs and get some special food for her. Big thank you to the lady in charge. Damansara and KL city are very different. There are two malls next to the hotel, which have supermarkets and few shops functioning, but no people there. Half the shops are not open yet. Being used to the bubbly Bukit Bintang, we were disappointed by the loneliness. That can be the deal breaker. Canapés at the lounge were good enough for light dinner. The refreshments throughout the day (noon to 9 pm) was good.

A disappointing experience from the Sofitel brand. Unfortunately this hotel fell far short of my expectations. First of all the rooms smell like an old barn. They definitely don’t maintain their air systems properly and even though I changed my first room - the second room also had terrible smell. One day house keeping decided to spray air fresheners which caused me to have an allergic reaction. The bathroom shower had a lot of mold and the room window even had algae growth. Lastly, the payment system is extremely strange for a 5 star hotel. They make you pay at the point of sale and charging things to the room is not possible. Even the laundry you have to pay upon receipt, in cash! I didn’t have cash so they brought a whole new person with a credit card machine to the room. How inefficient and inconvenient! I have not seen this done even at 3 star hotels.

I stayed in the Sofitel in KL for 3 nights. I was quite disappointed by the overall experience.l, which was not as qualitative as it is supposed to be compared to other Sofitels I went to. The breakfast lacked international options and quality products, the room decoration looked very old fashioned and the carpet on the floor smelled weird. The staff was very nice though. All in all, it is a good hotel but definitely not a luxury hotel.

Have been staying here for two years. Excellent service in all outlets. Want to mention the Nizza Pool Bar. Lovely setting for a pre dinner drink or a light meal at the bar. Thank you Aiman for remembering me and your excellent cocktails. Well trained staff.
