Have stayed in many other hotels in KL and must say was disappointed with this hotel, Overall the location, room size Stayed in club room), cleanliness is all plus. However attitude of some staff was not pleasant. When checking in I asked where's the designated smoking area and was told the hotel is 100 per cent non smoking hotel. As if I am not aware and who's taking about smoking in the hotel. Anyway I managed to find the designated smoking area the next morning. Which the staff concerned could have pointed out in the first instance when I asked him. Breakfast was a mess. The staff were all over the place and service was slow, clearing of used utensils was slow, perhaps it was too crowded-that I understand, topping up of food was super slow. Then came my biggest shock. I sent my clothes for express laundry service at 8am and specifically indicated I needed my clothes back by 8pm. When I returned to my room at 11pm a message indicated no one was in the room and the DND sign was on. I made very sure the DND sign was turned off before I left. So I do not know how the DND sign was on? I also noticed on the bill it was COD. I called the front office to make enquiries and after much explanation my clothes were delivered. I asked to speak to the duty manager and she told me if it's not COD my clothes will not be delivered until payment is made. This the first time I experience such comment. In other worse if no payment was made my clothes will not be returned and she told me yes. I am appalled by such reply. I clearly mentioned to her that during check out I am sure the staff will inform me I have outstanding amount to be settled. I am truly astonished by the duty manager reply. Anyway long story short it will be last with Sofitel

I was travelling with my parents, who are senior citizens. While we appreciated certain aspects of the hotel, I would like to raise some concerns regarding our experience with service at the property. During multiple interactions with the front office team, as well as at the breakfast restaurant and during dinner at Nizza, the behaviour and manner of communication from a few staff members felt unwelcoming and dismissive. Based on these interactions, it came across to us as discriminatory and racist in nature, which was both disappointing and uncomfortable. In addition, I would like to highlight an operational issue during breakfast service. Although breakfast was communicated as being available until 10:30 am, the clearing of items began around 10:00 am. This included the removal of item name plates, followed by the food itself, which significantly impacted the experience for guests who arrived closer to the stated end time. I am sharing this feedback constructively, as Sofitel is a brand I associate with high standards of hospitality and inclusivity. I hope this can be reviewed internally to ensure a more consistent and respectful guest experience going forward. Thank you for taking the time to review this feedback. I would appreciate an acknowledgement and, if possible, an update on how this will be addressed.

Concierge takes a long time to pick up calls and if they did, they did not deliver what was requested. I requested for 2 plates and utensils, was promised twice it will be delivered but did not within the day. In the end I called housekeeping who delivered within 10 minutes

Well located, clean, great service with friendly staff and thank you for being so thoughtful with the birthday decorations and cake! Only disappointment was there was no smoked salmon served for breakfast during my stay because I had it during my previous 3 night stay.
