The room was om ut i was unabke tonopen the window as it was screwed shut and broken. We stayed to attend a wedding and the venie was good but what let it down massively was fluctuating prices for the same 3 drinks everytime we went to the bar, 1 bar person in the bar who had no idea what he was doing (10 minutes to pour 1 pint, a Gin and lemonade and a pepsi). The breakfast room was quite busy and we had ti sit in reception as we got told there was no tables, when we went in to get foof there was tables just not cleared from previous people and the staff where very rude when a man asked why the coffee machine wasnt working, turs out it had ran out of water but the lady was very abrupt when the man asked a simple queation of will it take time to heat up. My 2nd stay in 2 weeks at a mecure hotel and both have been terrible. Not the standars i would expect.

No hot water

When I checked I said there was no hot water. One of the reception staff said "that is because we are replacing the boilers". Frankly I don't care, either make sure I will get what I expect or don't take my booking. A good sleep and a hot shower in the morning is basic requirements.

The suite we were staying in had 10 issues with it - from 2 out of three TVs not working to multiple light bulb issues etc etc Although the hotel management knocked 30% off the bill to which I was reasonably satisfied I would have preferred not to have the issues. Also there were two weddings that night and that coupled with the staff shortages meant the general service speed was slow and the main areas were very noisy. Generally not what I was looking for or expecting. Also having to pay extra for car parking was pushing it too far

we was at a family wedding which was beautiful but the only problem was there was no consistency in the bar prices which varies from £13 a round down to£4 for the same round. also the hotel smelled damp.

I booked a meeting room for the morning. Personally I think someone should be coming in and asking if we need teas and coffee etc. Maybe even food? You would make more money!

Ideal location, dated hotel

The hotel was an ideal location for an event at Haydock racecourse which we were able to walk to. Hotel itself was very busy and as such a little unclean in communal areas (toilets, bar, corridors). Room itself was clean but dated and a little tatty for example the enamel was damaged on the bath in a couple of places with visible rust. Also lighting in room was a little gloomy. Bar was under stocked and pricey. No food available from mid afternoon to 5.30pm. Breakfast was a large choice but cheaper ingredients which were luke warm. I would recommend the hotel as far as convenience but not if you are looking for a luxury night away.

We stayed for an overnight stay on the way back from holiday. When we arrived in room, the state of the room was "VERY FILTHY". Stain on the furnishings, floor and left over stuff from the previous guest was found in the cupboards and drawer. We called the reception but there were no answer. My husband went to see them and they offered another room but when i checked the room, it is as well as filthy as the other room. The tiles in the bathroom is partly falling off and it was super dirty and the stain around the faucet and knob was horrible. We are very tired from 8 hours drive and the weather was bad and decided to stay as its getting dark. We went to the restaurant to eat and the service was as well unacceptable. The food was delivered to our table ahead than the drinks without the cutlery. When I asked for the cutlery, the waiter went to get the drinks first which took maybe 5 minutes and therefore i took the initiative to get it myself before the food gets cold which was in the bar area. Non of the staff was wearing mask and the corridor has all kinds of dirt. The following morning when i woke up, i have insect bites all over which i suffered from itchiness for more than a week. When we complained the following morning in the reception, the front desk man did not comment nor apologise. Its not acceptable!
