It's a decent 5-star hotel, but there are a few areas that need improvement: 1. There were large stains on the room wall. 2. The welcome drink was not offered during check-in (or it wasn't clear if guests had to serve themselves). 3. At the Executive Lounge, Happy Hour started before the food was ready, and the gin was already empty at the beginning. 4. The Eggs Benedict at the B1 restaurant breakfast could be improved.

Staff were not able to speak English well and were not welcoming. The hotel was very humid and in the room it was very damp, including the bedding. I ordered room service but could not communicate with the staff well, and many things were not available on the menu. When we did finally receive our order, one of the items was missing. The bathroom was not clean well, there was hair and debris on the floor. There was no automatic bidet either. The swimming pool was disgusting and unhygienic.

Reception staff were very helpful, accommodating both an early check-in and late check-out. The room was spacious and comfortable, though slightly dated, with an impressive large bathroom, separate toilet and shower, and a big bathtub. Breakfast offered a wide variety to suit all tastes. The bar area was plush and inviting with a good selection of drinks. Overall, the staff were excellent throughout, with particularly friendly door staff.

Easy access from Pudong airport with airport link. Convenient shuttle service. Kind and friendly staff in lobby, gym, restaurants and executive lounge. Buffet dinner great value for in-house guests (50% discount at the time of stay). Breakfast buffet very good with many choices. Hotel is a bit old but room big and spacious. Location is very quiet but a bit far from most attractions. It is still walkable to the Hub shopping area and Hongqiao transport hub on a cool day (about 2km). Really enjoyed my stay there, thanks to Rhodey, Jenny and all the kind staff.

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. Room is clean and comfortable. What motivated me to give my feedback is because of the excellent and warm service by Jenny at lounge maximille. She gave me a tour of the lounge and made sure I had a comfortable time at the lounge. She even gave me recommendations of places of interests in the Hongqiao areas. Congratulations for having an excellent staff like Jenny!

I experienced a serious skin reaction during my stay — multiple insect bites that spread and required medical attention. I cannot confirm the source, but I have raised this with the hotel. I hope management will inspect bedding and rooms thoroughly to protect future guests. Service from staff was otherwise courteous

A stunning hotel with beautiful Parisian-style architecture. The location is incredibly convenient for the Hongqiao transportation hub and NECC. My room was luxurious and featured the signature Sofitel MyBed, which ensured a perfect night's sleep. Exceptional service from the Heartist team!

Rooms were nice but too warm and air-conditioning couldn't be adjusted. Overall service was lacking - for example it took 40 min to get a club sandwich in the restaurant at lunch time and there were only a couple of other tables occupied, pool open hours are from 8am which means you cant swim as part of your morning exercise routine, no towels available in gym, breakfast was a bit underwhelming.

Had a better experience at the stay at sofitel yet, the WiFI is not as expected, It was very limited and slow. I could not to make my daily email check-ups and few business matters.
