Quite enjoyable but issues with hot water. Poor water pressure whilst showering and using bath - no instructions while using hot water system. Over eager cleaners prior to checkout

I booked an Ocean View room and I also phoned the hotel to confirm we had a nice room as it was my husbands birthday. When we arrived the check in was friendly and efficient enough. Parking for our room wasn’t very satisfactory, decent walk. Entered our room, the bench was dirty, marks down the dishwasher, furniture quite underwhelming. We went out onto the balcony and the only ocean view we got was upon standing, very disappointing. We ran the bath and there was a pubic hair remaining in the bath from previous occupants. Upon check out I politely mentioned my concerns to which I was responded with “sorry about that” Not really impressed

All staff were extremely helpful. The facilities such as the tennis courts, lawn bowls and swimming pool were great! Rooms were nice, nothing too fancy.

Room was dirty

The customer service was outstanding, however our room was dirty. It was apparent that glass in the bathroom had not been cleaned nor the floor mopped/vacuumed. My wife cut her hand on a small piece of broken glass that was in the carpet. Then the battery went flat in the smoke detector at 3AM, letting of a beep every 5 minutes and waking our 20 month old. The saving grace was the staff willing to rectify these issues immediately and without fuss.

From the bottle of complimentary bottle of wine on arrival, to the careful attention paid to the preferences, I had requested for the room location. We were well set up for the delightful stay we enjoyed. The beach was practically on our door step, we sipped coffee on the balcony whilst listening to the waves. Good food and shops to browse are accessible without needing to take the car from where you parked it at the Mantra. Accommodating our later checkout, was a great way to conclude, our all too brief stay.

Perfect location to stay in Lorne, walking distance to restaurants/shops etc or as a base for day trips on the coast. Plenty of reasons to also just stay at the mantra as well with tennis, pool gym etc.

Breakfast was the only thing that let down the experience. As a hospo worker I appreciate the covid safe measures. Lining up at the bar contradicts all you are doing though. Good very average at best. Shame as the accomodation etc was great. I was also over charged on my accomodation when I booked. Was a nightmare trying to sort out so in the end I accepted a room upgrade but still don’t think it was worth the $70 I was over charged! Check your bank statements when you book and screen shot how much it says.

We stayed over on the night of 6th of April 2021. The cleanliness of the room was well below acceptable standards. The fridge had old scraps of food, the bathroom washbasin had a brown stain on its side (which easily wiped away), and the balcony had not been cleaned at all - many areas were covered in bird droppings and there were clumps of debris. Positives: the room was spacious and the setting was generally nice. The location is excellent.

Excellent Mantra complex with plenty to do like tennis, mini golf, croquet and indoor heated swimming pool. Right on the beach and in the centre of town. Exceptional service, clean and well maintained apartments. A short drive to many tourist destinations.

Mantra staff work hard to make sure you enjoy your break in Lorne. Breakfast is exceptional and facilities well organised (tennis, pool and spa). Beach is on the doorstep and Lorne shops an easy walk for coffee and snacks
