Overall we love staying at Mantra Lorne. There is so much to do and you are right in the centre of the action. The services is great. The apartments could do with some updating, they are getting a bit tired, but we will still come back.

I am writing to formally raise a complaint regarding our recent stay at your hotel, specifically in Room 219B, which fell well below acceptable standards. Upon checking into the room, we immediately noticed that it had not been properly cleaned or maintained. There was visible hair in the bathroom, and the carpets appeared old, dusty, and unhygienic. There was no indication that the room had been checked or prepared to an appropriate standard prior to our arrival. Later that night, while attempting to sleep, we were disturbed by a bright external light shining directly onto the bed. When we tried to close the curtains, we discovered that they were significantly shorter than the window and did not block the light at all. Despite trying various ways to make the room darker, we were unable to sleep. At around midnight, we contacted reception to report the issue. Unfortunately, the response from the night shift manager was extremely disappointing. His attitude showed a complete lack of care or concern, and he was unwilling to listen to our complaint or offer any solution. We had to suggest ourselves that we be moved to another room. After informing him that we were coming to the reception desk at approximately 12:30 AM, we arrived to find the desk unattended. My husband had to search the lobby and nearby offices before locating the manager, who was working on a computer. The manager then provided us with new room keys and a room number, but did not explain where the room was located. He simply drew a route on a map. When we followed the directions, we found the building entrance locked at around 1:30 AM, leaving us unable to access the room. After walking around the property further, we eventually found another entrance that was open and were finally able to enter the room and get some rest. Due to this appalling experience, we decided to check out the following morning. Overall, the standard of service and accommodation was more comparable to a basic motel rather than a hotel. That said, we would like to acknowledge Hanna, the Assistant Manager, who assisted us in the morning. She was understanding, professional, and genuinely took the time to listen to our concerns, which we appreciated. We trust that this feedback will be taken seriously and addressed to ensure that future guests do not encounter a similar experience.
