While one of the desk managers said the bath in the room was in a heritage format so it presumably could not be changed such statement was utter rot as the room ,(501)was decidedly not heritage. In brief the bath over which was the shower is far too deep especially for less mobile elderly people and represents a severe fall hazard and if many other rooms are the same they all need urgent modification. Also on both mornings all the hot food tems were basically too cold, as well as the coffee and needed greater heating; such was a severe disappointment to us for a so called upper class place

While the rooms are called Heritage and come under the Heritage Victoria listing, we could potentially replace the baths when the property receives funds to do so. This has been raised with the corporate office hopefully a refurbishment might be on the horizon in the coming years. I have stayed here on occasions for the past 10 years. In that time ZERO maintenance and upgrades seem to have been done. The beds are old and saggy, the blinds are wrinkled and covered in dead bugs. The kitchen cupboards are cheap and falling apart. The toilet seats don’t match the toilet…. The restaurant / breakfast used to be good, and the location is good so that used to make up for the uncomfortable nights sleep. But now it seems they’re cutting corners at the restaurant too and the breakfast is stale and boring. Timing wise it seems to me like it’s gone down hill since Mantra took over - I think they’re passing everything on to share holders and not investing in good staff and fix / upgrading the accommodation to keep up with normal wear and tear. Or the individual owners of the apartments are not being incentivised to maintain their investments - maybe the location means they get customers regardless of how run down it’s getting???…

I understand your frustrations in respect to the Accommodation, in fact we have commenced some refurbishments in 2025 with the owners and this will continue through 2026 and into 2027. There are many challenges at the property with increased cost due to the ongoing property maintenance plan that has been implemented over the past two years. We have some significant projects which will take 4-5 years to see progress of scale. We are also addressing your concerns with breakfast, and in general all food and beverage offerings. Excellent location in Lorne. Close to the shops, restaurants and the beach is right outside. Quick, friendly efficient check-in. Apartments reasonably well-equipped with a small kitchen. Grounds well maintained. My ACCOR status was recognised as a very frequent customer to Accor. Thank you for making me feel so special.
