This hotel was ideally suited to us, as we were visiting venues in the Darling Harbour area ( Later during our stay in Sydney, we moved to a hotel nearer to Circular Quay, for a performance at the Opera House). With the light rail at the door, it was easy to get to by public transport. The hotel is modern, with staff very service orientated. We were up-graded to a “Jones Bay View” room, and it was beautiful, with a great view to the west. The room was spotless, comfortable and reasonably spacious , with a great bathroom and dressing area. Being on the 22nd floor, we had no issues with noise. The roof-top infinity pool sounds great, but it’s actually quite small, with limited sun lounges. It was crowded and somewhat noisy when we tried to use it ( lots of kids … school holidays!) . The neighbouring gym was well -equipped. This was our second stay , and we’ll definitely make it our base, again, next time we are looking for somewhere in the western CBD/ Darling Harbour area.

My husband and I arrived early in the morning from a 17 hour flight to this nice property. Check in was quick and we have learned over the years that if you are flying overnight it is well worth booking your room or suite from that night prior. When you arrive your room will have been turned down and you can then arrive to a rest and shower before beginning your vacation. So that is what we again did and we were very happy to arrive to our junior suite overlooking the harbor - ready with no delay. We also had the club floor included and that view is beautiful - and the daily food and beverage presentations were just right for us. The offerings in the morning were more than plenty and we also enjoyed the evening cocktail hour and hors d’oeuvres. This is a busy hotel and as we stayed over the New Year holiday it was very busy. We never felt rushed and service was professional and very attentive. The hotel is very well situated just steps from the harbor walk and offers beautiful views as well as proximity. It was not as close to the shopping we enjoyed or the opera house but those areas were still easy to reach. This hotel is a nice choice and for our first ever visit to Sydney was a great one.

Live in Sydney, but took my kids for a long weekend during school holiday. Great location for family activities, pool day was fantastic and overall treated very well by staff. There were some hiccups along the way, but hotel staff sorted them quickly and looked after us. Will book again. We use to stay at Hyatt on the Quay. Darling Harbour Sofitel is our new staycation!!!
