Rude and inefficient receptionists

On arrival to the hotel I wasn’t even greeted, just asked “name” by the receptionist. Then he proceeded to look for my reservation and just got the card machine out and rudely pointed with his finger to it, not a single word to say what he wanted. I made the payment and he just handed me the card receipt and the key, again, not a single word came out of his mouth. When I got to my room, I needed some extra pillows (which I always request at the time of booking), so I called the reception but no one picked up for over 5 minutes, so I gave up and walked down to the front desk, to find that the previously mute receptionist was having a great time laughing with his colleague. When I confronted him with the fact that I had been calling for over 5 minutes, he didn’t even apologise or pretend to care and just said they were very busy. I finally went to my room to sleep hoping I got a better receptionist at check out. Wishful thinking! Although a different one, the one that did the check out was as rude as the one I had for check in, so it must be the general rule for this.

Pretty awful

I am not sure what I expected from this budget airport hotel but it was something rather better. The room was very ‘compact’ to the point of being claustrophobic and extremely warm. If the mattress had been made out of granite it would have been more comfortable. If there had of been enough floor space I would have preferred to sleep on that as it would have been softer than my mattress. I turned on the air com to reduce the room temperature only for it to sound like an old milk float rattling along in the early hours. The real highlight was the smoke alarm that was position exactly above the bed, at head height, which sent out a very bright white light every few seconds. It was almost as if this room had been designed for the worse nights sleep of your life. Luckily the restaurant was closed (no warning, obvs) so that at least saved me from a dreading dinning experience. On a positive note the hotel was right next to a petrol station that have a good selection of wine and crisps

We stayed here because we missed our connecting flight. I do not recommend this hotel. Very dirty. the first room proudly they gave us for $200 there were lots of hair in the bed and under the sheet. Rooms smell, hallways smell. And the breakfast is very bad. doesn't worth 200 at all.

My day stay worked out really well. The staff are helpful. Rooms are clean and check in/out was easy. The Hopper does not service this hotel but the 423 bus to terminal 5 for £1.65 is a 3min walk away in front of Three Magpies pub.

Last minute booking for two twin rooms both of which were very comfortable. Close to airport (4 minutes by cab). Would stay again. On the negative side! On check in they processed my payment. Apparently the girl who did it was off by 50p but I didn't notice until later that the hotel had tried to ring through a second payment on my card for, yes, 50p!! It was declined! The next morning on check-out they insisted that I pay the 50p!! WTF! Surely they could see fit to just let it go? After all, it was their error. Anyway I gave them a £10 note and got a bunch of loose change back; ridiculous! The other thing that ticked me off was I asked them to call a taxi to take the four of us to Terminal 2. Turns out they have their guy waiting outside for just such an occasion. I asked him how much. He did the classic sucking in of air through his teeth (I'm not making it up) and said £25 maybe £30!!! It is a 4 minute drive that he has done a million times and he goes through the bogus routine of being only able to estimate it and that estimate was double what it should be!! Bear in mind just the previous night we hailed a black cab from Terminal 2 to the hotel so we knew exactly what it should cost (the metre on that cab got to £13.85 I think); I showed him the bill from the previous night and he agreed on £15. Total scam operating there so make your own taxi arrangements!! One last comment. The restaurant there is basic but it had a couple of Indian dishes listed on the menu. We ordered two dishes but they were very obviously extremely watered down; very liquid and nearly no flavour. We were hungry so we ate it but someone obviously had added a load of water to it to make it go further!!
