From our greeting by the lovely receptionist to the check out where staff magically appeared from everywhere to help with our bags this was a wonderful stay. Beautiful and well manicured grounds. Our Heritage Suite was large and nicely decorated. Breakfast and dinner in the restaurant were all delicious. Do try the Lao dishes - every one was enjoyable. It’s a short walk into the centre of town and we found Luang a Prabang to be relaxing and friendly. It was a great place to visit. The spa was very professional and we felt like very welcome guests at all times.

Service is excellent and the property is beautiful but we would not stay here again. Our room was located along the west wall and we could hear dogs barking, children crying and roosters crowing all day and for most of the night. We opted for the room with a pool but couldn't really enjoy it due to the mosquitoes. The property has bikes for use but they are in very poor condition, the pedal fell off of my husband's bike when we were in town. The hotel was nice enough to pick us and the bikes up on short notice.

Sofitel is an excellent choice for Luang Prabang - elegant, stylish and tranquil. The hotel is a former governor’s residence, full of historical charm. Ideally situated - on a quiet little street, but with all the main attractions within a walking distance (15mins walk to the night market). The rooms are beautifully decorated, comfortable and spotlessly clean; facilities are great - I loved the gym and the spa. Also, the hotel has a very good experience desk - booking your adventures will never be a problem. Last but not least - the service is 5-star, there is an experienced management team on the ground. Thank you to the Sofitel Team for making my stay so wonderful!
