Hotel is definitely nice, but a bit of finesse was missing. Breakfast was ok, but very limited choices (eg Cheese came only on the buffet after more guest arrived). We do not want food waste, but it is possible to present a bit more selection with very small quantities. being a platinum member and booked the most expensive room, was wondering that there was not a small welcome in the room. Normally I get this in other Sofitel or Fairmont hotels around. room would need some maintenance. some window blinds could hardly be moved, at the pool two wooden planks broke when i sat down on the sun chair, complimentary coffee was not refilled, only after asking they would do it. overall nice and we enjoyed, but for the price paid, the service and facility was not as per expectation.

I cannot fault this hotel. The rooms were beautiful and had everything you could wish for. The food was amazing. The spa wonderful. But what made it, were the fantastic staff who were always friendly, always ready to help and nothing was too much trouble. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Our family had an enjoyable stay at Sofitel Luang Prabang. We felt looked after and well taken care of. The staff were friendly and responsive to our needs. There were a couple of staff who stood out to us as they went above and beyond what is expected. Te miraculously remembers all our family members’ name (not an easy feat as we all have unusual names). He makes an attempt to greet us by our names in all our interactions. Vard very pleasantly surprised us on our last day with Xieng Khoung sticky rice as a parting gift. We had mentioned to him in passing we hope to find that particular sticky rice in the market. We were not successful and was thrilled he remembered and went out of his way to get some for us so that we can continue to savor the taste of Laos at our home in San Francisco. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Wonderful Stay at Sofitel Luang Prabang for Light Boat Festival

My first time staying at the Sofitel Luang Prabang is wonderful and pleasant experience. It felt like I am going home to meet new family from the hotel staffs. When I arrived at the hotel, I was greeted by Pak Yogeswaran, general manager and met Pak Wayan Mawa, the chef who is originally from Bali. Vard, front office manager who also assisted me from check-in, baci ceremony, etc. He was amicable and helpful. Others staffs were also dedicated to make sure I enjoyed my stay. I also had experience for krathong making, Sofitel 60 years light within exhibition and light boat festival with dinner at 3 Nagas M Gallery Luang Prabang In nutshell, the facilities, hospitality, food & beverage, hotel activities and of course the staff are top notch service. I really enjoyed my stay during the light boat festival. As Accor Gold Member, I was also recognized and received my benefits such as welcome amenity, room upgrade, welcome drink and early check-in. I had problem with my credit card for the payment but everything went well as I was assisted by hotel reservation agent. Overall, I will come back again for sure and recommend it to my colleague. Big thanks and shoutout to Vard, Pak Wayan, Leng, Pamom, Noudny, Phon (Spa), Lee & Noy (krathong making) and airport drivers.

This hotel should be on the best list not just for Luang Prabang but it shows a standard of care and serenity not often achieved. From the moment you walk in the ease of entering into the courtyard’ s palm and lantern pathways with an open air reception desk is consistent with the atmosphere of this city in Laos. Lush, tropical, unassuming beauty. I’m thankful for Te to be the person to check in and show care to us, even seeing at breakfast how our travels were. I noticed a staff person was looking for my door to open to receive bags at the time hotel knew flight checkout, for both of us who had different flight times. Impeccable timing and easy going atmosphere, without being stuffy is what I really enjoy. The rooms have a modern and spacious bed and bathroom. The crown jewel was the back courtyard with black soaking tub. I took to the tub water after a great day while my friend had the interior bathroom with a separate tub and shower at her disposal. Any and every need at this resort is taken care of and they receive the highest rating.
