3 Nagas Luang Prabang - MGallery 4 stars

While I travel frequently I rarely review properties, but the outstanding experience was well worth speaking about. The property is conveniently located right in the center of the old capital city of Luang Prabang next to wats and the colonial era shopfronts. The building is wonderfully atmospheric, having been owned in the past by royals built in a nice French Lao style. Breakfast out on the street is wonderful. And the welcoming and gracious staff led by the crew of Nouy, Ning, Linda, and Pookie exuded great warmth. Truly one of my top hotels of all time in decades of travel.

3 Nagas is a wonderful boutique hotel in town, with easy access to all Luang Prabang has to offer. The room was super clean and very cozy, traditional and rustic. The staff was fantastic. The restaurant was excellent - breakfast was very nice and freshly prepared a-la-carte - no buffet (yay!). Do make a reservation for dinner, or you might not get a table! The cocktail bar is superb - great cocktail options and wonderful mixologist. The location is right on the main street, so it is an easy walk to the night market and the river front parks. Be aware that the alms ceremony starts at 6AM and there is some noise of folks getting ready to participate. It was not a problem for us, as we enjoyed participating and checking out the action. Wonderful experience. Thank you 3 Nagas for the warm hospitality - made our visit even better!

The location is unbeatable, everything is walking distance and honestly is on the best part of town. The breakfasts are amazing. The staff was super helpful and accommodating (Nouy is the best!). I had a really nice time in this hotel and definitely would come back!

The 3 Nagas MGallery Luang Prabang is the ideal place if you are looking for a unique intimate experience of confort and luxury in Luang Prabang. Ideally located in the historical center, this UNESCO world classified property is more than a hotel, you'll feel immediately transported in times as soon as you receive a traditional and professional welcome before being guided to your room: an elegant mix of tradition and modernity. The team is really excellent! As the famous Alms ceremony takes place every morning in the front of the hotel around 6am, it is a really a pleasure and you can then either go back to bed or directly start your day with a great breakfast. All the historical and cultural points are in a short walking distance. Other key asset, the 3 Nagas is the sister hotel of the Sofitel located a couple of minutes away (free bicycle are available at the lobby), you can therefore benefit from the free access to the swimming pool (from my opinion: the best one in the entire country!) to re-energize in a luxury and quiet garden after a long day visiting the city. And to perfectly end your day, I would highly recommend to chill out at the bar of the 3 Nagas, sipping the eponym cocktail! Gorgeous! A great thanks to the lovely and professional staff, that was a dream experience. A must stay in Luang Prabang.

We spent three nights in room 1. Everything started very nicely. We reserved the airport transfer because we were arriving late. It cost $30 but was extremely convenient. The driver was waiting for us when we arrived, and he had a box of "goodies" for us: juices, water, peanuts, and other treats. It took less than 15 minutes to get from the airport to the hotel. Check in was simple and friendly. They served us homemade ice cream and sweet lemongrass tea during the check-in procedures. The room was in the main hotel right after the outdoor restaurant. It faced the main street but had a nice, private courtyard, and the wooden shutters that were closed at night helped with the noise. The room was extremely large with a very nice four post bed that included mosquito netting. We didn't need it, but we closed the netting at night for the ambiance. Be aware, however, that this is an old, historic property. If you prefer a modern, fancy experience, this is not the place for you. Also, the room was expensive for Luang Prabang, however a few locals, when they learned where we were staying told us that it was the nicest hotel in the city. That being said, it came with a price and was significantly more expensive than other nearby properties. We knew that and chose to treat ourselves. We very much enjoyed the location and being able to walk to everything in the historic district. Just because something is historic, however, does not mean that certain things shouldn't be fixed. For example, the vanity mirror in the bathroom was cracked, and there were a few holes in the wall over near the desk. Both need to be fixed. Coffee and different types of teas were provided in the room as was a kettle and bottled water. There was also a couch and sitting area along with a small desk. There was also fresh fruit in the room and umbrellas, slippers, and robes. The mini fridge had water, soda, and beer. The water appeared to be included, but the soda and beer were not. We took advantage of the laundry service which cost $25 for a bag. This was more than if you did it on your own but dramatically less than what was charged on the riverboat during our cruise. It was 102 degrees F while we were in Luang Prabang, and the air conditioner in our room worked perfectly to keep the inside temperature comfortable. The noise from the restaurant and street we anticipated based on the location, and it did not disturb us. However, the noisy upstairs neighbors who walked heavily at all hours were annoying. The staff were great, and the breakfast was off a menu and very good. It was a little strange to have the food delivered from across the street, but it arrived hot. A shout out to Nouy, Ning, Linda, and Pookie is well deserved for their quality service. In addition to the mirror and the wall, a couple of other things that would be helpful and welcome additions include installing a towel hanger within reach of the tub, a grab bar to assist with getting into and out of the tub, and a shower curtain that covers the entire shower rather than just part of it.
