Flew back on red eye flight from Qld and wsd very tired. I had arrived late and the reception wsd quick in booking myself snf Fiance into room. The bed was comfy and fell asleep quite easily.

I’ve been staying here since 2024 and I’m finally done. I’ve had several negative experiences, and the place never seems to improve. There’s a high turnover of staff, and whether you’re asked to pay a deposit appears to depend on someone’s mood rather than any clear policy, there’s no consistency at all. I wasn’t even allowed early check-in as an Accor Gold member. I was told I could check in at 10am, but if I wanted to check in at 9am it would cost significantly more, which felt unreasonable and opportunistic. After being discharged from hospital, I was sitting in the hotel lobby on a high dose of pain relief and simply wanted to get to the room I had already booked and paid for in advance. The Indian man who identified himself as the “manager” did not take anything I said into consideration and showed a complete lack of empathy. Based on this interaction, he is unfit to be in a management position. If this is how he treats customers in distress, I can only imagine how poorly he must manage and support staff under him. A few days later, I was chased at the door by the receptionist asking, “Have you paid?” which was embarrassing and made me late for my taxi. I paid immediately, but I do not appreciate being put on the spot like that. Overall, the staff come across as unprofessional and lacking even basic customer service skills.

Kindly note we do have staff members that have been here for many years, though, like most workplaces, we do have staff members that come and go - this is out of the hotels control. As an ALL member, for our hotel, any member that is silver or above, does not have to pay a deposit. Depending on where and how you book, sometimes your membership will not show on your booking; if booking directly, your membership will appear on your booking, but if you book through a third party website, such as Booking.com, Expedia etc., your membership will not show and your membership entitlements are unable to be acknowledged, if not booked directly - this may have been the reason why we asked for a deposit. This is a general rule of thumb, however, if we believe we require a deposit, we are able to ask for one. For most hotels, the check in time is 2pm - this is advised when you book. Subject to availability, we can offer an early check-in at no extra cost from 9am for silver members and above, if there is a room ready - this is subject to availability and not guaranteed, as per the terms and conditions of your membership. If you wish to guarantee an early check in, there is an additional fee of $65.00. I am very sorry to hear about your situation around being in hospital and hope that you are now okay. I do apologize if you felt embarrassed regarding us chasing up payment - for members, we do allow them to pay on check out, but if we saw you leaving the hotel without approaching the front desk to pay, I trust you can understand why we pulled you up - an account should be settled prior to departing the hotel.
