I booked 2 nights at the Royal St George expecting a relaxing weekend away, what a let down! For extra comfort, I booked an executive room for CHF 600 a night. It happened that the room was in a side building on the ground floor with direct view on some kind of bin area. There was no balcony contrary to the room description online. I complained I got moved to another room on the 3rd floor for the 2nd night, which was ok. Overall, a very disappointing experience. Value for money seems a complete alien concept in Switzerland

We booked a room which was advertised as a 'Family Suit with Kitchen' and paid a very high price. The images advertised did not firstly show that the room was actually not part of the hotel, it was behind the hotel above the garage. It look like a a very small apartment rather than a four star hotel room! We were checked in late. The 'suite' did not have the amenities listed in our booking including a washing machine. When we complained about the room, there was no manager on duty except the housekeeping manager who had no authority whatsoever. We were told that the assistant manager would come later in the evening so we left what was left of our day to come and sort this on our return. The assistant manager, Yusuf Celik, was incredibly rude to us and even accused us of just wanting to cancel booking without having to pay even though we only asked for our room to be changed. He called the police simply because we were complaining and the police came and sided with us and got the assistant manager to get in touch with the manager. Yusuf was very very rude, laughed at us and made false accusations and kept going back on his words! Also during the above arguments they took our bags from our room and left them on the street unaccompanied and without telling us. Do not recommend this hotel at all - you expect better service from a 4 star hotel. Very disappointed and I think Yusuf should face disciplinary action for his disrespect.

Great service, great staff. Professional Front Office, especially Karim Mohamed, Abdulrahman and Nizar. We enjoyed our stay in Interlaken and we will come back as soon as possible. Rooms are clean and the location is amazing. Food at the breakfast delicious.

Our experience and stay at this Hotel was superlative from the outset. Special Kudos to front office manager Karim, who handled everything from booking, to restaurant recommendations and points of interest. Karim was most knowledgeable, courteous and did everything possible to make our stay in Interlakken a great experience. The Hotel has two buildings. One of the buildings is original configuration dating to1907; the other building is of the same vintage but remodeled to a more standardized modern room with air conditioning. Depending on your personal preferences, be aware to book the room accordingly. The Hotel is well located, just a five minutes walk to the Interlakken Ost train station. The Hotel is staff is happy to shuttle to you to the train station upon your arrival and departure. The breakfast was excellent as was the one dinner we had at the onsite restaurant. I consider this small European hotel to be a gem. I did note some negative comments on TA, but based upon my experience, they were unfounded.

This is my 2nd stay in this hotel and I have to say that the service is excellent and wonderful . As I am on my own, I had reserved a junior suite. Prior to my arrival, I called the hotel and made a request to Mr Karim (from the front desk) for a quiet room as I have to work while taking a break. Mr Karim is very helpful and friendly, making my stay a very comfortable and peaceful one . Thank you Mr Karim. The other front desk staff are also efficient, diligent and helpful (Mr Yusuf Celia) and my special compliments to Mr Mizan, the staff serving breakfast . Mr Mizan has a pleasant disposition and always take care of all the guests diligently with a cheerful smile in the morning. The Junior suite that I am staying in faces the road but the windows are sound proof so there is not much noise and has a good view of the mountains . The air condition is fabulous and much needed because it can be quite warm in the afternoon. The room ( which was in the new wing) which I stayed in many years ago faces the back which is a little more serene and quiet. Unfortunately there is a little renovation going in the hotel so it can be a little disturbing at times. Otherwise I would say all is good . The only thing I wish is that the room service menu can be more varied . Most importantly I would definitely stay in this hotel again .
