hi Comfortable room and appreciate the AC. The main desk employees were very friendly and welcoming. So was the porter. Kudos to him But overall there is a feeling that your hotel doesn't live up to the 4 stars status. - breakfast is below average on quality. - cleaning is not thorough. missing shower gel, tissues etc - the brasserie/restaurant is very average and so is service - overhearing personnel squabbling over tips is really underwhelming.

Good things 1. Room: The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Overall, we were happy with the condition and space available. 2. Location: The location was very good. It is close to attractions such as Harder Kulm and also within easy reach of the main town. 3. Air conditioning: I was particularly glad that the room had air conditioning. Given the heat we experienced during our stay, this was absolutely necessary and made a big difference. Areas for improvement 1. Very delayed check-in: We arrived around 12:00 PM, so we did not expect the room to be ready at that time. However, the reception took our luggage and specifically told us that our room would be put on priority with housekeeping and prepared as soon as possible. We went out and returned at exactly 3:00 PM. When we asked about the room, we were told it would take another 20 minutes. We were fine with waiting and sat in the lobby. However, 45 minutes later, nobody had updated us. I eventually went back to reception and mentioned that we had been told 20 minutes and had already been waiting for 45 minutes. Before I had even finished explaining the situation, I was offered welcome vouchers. I appreciate the gesture, but as an Accor Gold member, I already receive welcome benefits. At that point, what we really needed was simply for the room to be ready and for someone to acknowledge the delay. The Front Office Manager then came over, but I felt that my feedback was initially being interrupted rather than properly heard. I nevertheless explained the issue, and we finally received our room at around 4:10 PM. This delay had a real impact on our plans because we missed the Lake Thun cruise we had planned to take that afternoon. Switzerland had impressed us with how efficiently and punctually everything generally operates, so this experience was particularly disappointing. Unfortunately, this was one area where our experience with the Accor hotel was very different from what we experienced elsewhere. 2. Extra bed was not ready: Even after the room was finally given to us, the extra bed was not prepared. Housekeeping had to come again after we entered the room to set it up. Considering how long we had already waited for the room, I would have expected everything to be ready when we were finally given access. 3. Birthday recognition: I had mentioned in a previous email that it was my birthday during the stay and had also asked about an upgrade. I understand that the historic room appeared available due to a system glitch and therefore the upgrade could not be provided. I was not expecting an upgrade to be guaranteed. However, since the hotel was aware that I was celebrating my birthday, I thought even a small gesture such as a birthday note or a small cake would have made the stay more special. 4. Breakfast Buffet: Even cleanliness at the restaurant was also pretty bad. I see bread crumbs every where. Maybe the cleaning is not prompt or they don't care. Overall feedback I came to Switzerland with very high expectations of Accor and expected a particularly good level of hospitality from a reputed international hotel group. Unfortunately, despite the hotel having a good room, excellent location and good facilities, the service experience was disappointing. Interestingly, during our Switzerland trip, we experienced better and more personal hospitality at some of the boutique hotels than at a reputed global brand like Accor. The property itself has many positives, but better communication, more proactive service and greater attention to special occasions would significantly improve the guest experience.

Upon check-in the bell service person gave us a map and explained our upcoming trip to Jungfraujoch. Front desk was friendly, but recommended a Korean BBQ place, Arre, but we didn’t care for it much. Room was clean and comfortable. Two improvement suggestions are: 1) Put at least one other mirror in the room, or even two. The only mirror was in the bathroom. 2) Breakfast buffet: The female hostess was not friendly - I don’t think I ever saw a smile. But the main issue was that it did not offer pancakes or waffles! I have been to many hotels in Europe and the U.S. and ALL OF THEM offer pancakes or waffles. I really missed having this for breakfast. However, I would still recommend the hotel to others. Good location.
