Although the hotel is not located in the safest area of Santiago, we didn't have problems regarding our safety. The building is close to Cerro Santa Lucía, Palacio de la Moneda and there is a metro station right next to the hotel. Our room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. Breakfast had good options of fruits and breads and you can also find grab-and-go options at the lobby (in case you have an early tour, for example). And whenever we needed help from the staff, they were available.

Misleading adverts for this hotel in a horrible area of Santiago

I’ve stayed at Mercure branded hotels before and was expecting a good quality hotel. However, this hotel is far from what we expected. Firstly, The area this hotel is in, is the most run down depressed and dangerous feeling part of Santiago there is. There are steel doors on every shop window and door nearby. The front door to the hotel is locked every night at dusk and you have to wait for the staff to let you in. I never felt safe in this area and on the day we left one of the reception staff was attacked in the hotel. Secondly, this hotel advertises the fact it has a swimming pool (part of the reason why I picked this hotel). When we checked in we were told that the pool was closed and won’t be open again until their summer season starts in November! Yet the hotel is still advertised with a pool and are misleading their customers. The room we had was overlooking the pool which just added to the hurt we felt. The rooms are average but they don’t have USB chargers, a very powerful shower which had issues with cold water making it scoldingly hot! The room cleaner, everyday, failed to leave clean towels in the room. We had to call down and ask for towels every evening. The breakfast is an average continental breakfast but with scrambled eggs. There was no daily variety, just the same thing everyday. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel to people. They have misleading adverts and don’t inform you until check in that the swimming pool is closed. Also, the area the hotel is just horrible. Santiago is beautiful city and well worth a visit, just select a better hotel than this one.

One of the worst experiences at an Accor hotel: very noisy, dirt under the beds, a very unpleasant staff and housekeeping knocking insistently on my door at 8:30 while I was still sleeping. Furthermore, they charged my credit card with an additional CLP 40.000 instead of the 16.226 announced when I made the reservation.

They cancelled our reservation without notice or explanation nor did they assist in helping us find a new hotel room. The email we received after trying to contact them was nothing but a template answer. This hotel is owned by Accor, a French corporation. Other of their hotels in the city are still open for business but I couldn’t get any assistance or explanation from them either. We travel extensively and will not stay here or at an Accor property in the future. Very poor business practices.

Unfortunately our hotel was seriously affected during the social manifestations in Santiago and is temporarily closed by the security of our staff and guests. Our reservation team is based in another hotel supporting all guests who have booked with us. All of them are being informed by email and each booking is being handled according to the preference of each guest. We are suggesting to change to another AccorHotel with safe location security or to cancel the reservation, obviously without penalty. It is up to each guest to choose the best option. I stayed for one week, they will not fill minibar, beer, coffee and spoon also. When I ask them to bring them, they will fill immediately. And I asked them to borrow electronic kettle, they also bring immediately. Ask something without hesitation, they will do everything you want.
