Upon arriving, I genuinely thought I had been placed in the staff quarters rather than an actual guest’s room and had to double-check that this was in fact my room. The bathroom looked like something from a rundown third-world hospital, featuring an open shower, a disgusting shower head, cracked tiles, dirty grout, and even a chair sitting awkwardly against the wall. Because my flight arrived late, I ordered room service, which reception at checkin were somehow not able to assit with. Once ordered and recieved, the food was was borderline inedible. I had the club sandwich and wings, two of the simplest items a kitchen can produce, both of which were terrible. I was amazed that someone working as a cook could prepare two such basic dishes so poorly. Without exaggeration, it was the worst meal I’ve eaten this year. After finishing, I left the tray outside my door. The next morning, in keeping with the rest of the experience, the same tray was still sitting there after being left out all night. I’ve stayed at Novotel properties before and expected a basic level of quality. This stay showed standards so low that I’m genuinely surprised Novotel allows this property to operate under its name. If I were paying out of my own pocket instead of travelling for work, I would be demanding a refund for both the $350 room charge and the meal. This was a deeply disappointing experience, and I will be avoiding Novotel in the future.

When checking in, I asked where the pool was as it was 37 degrees that day. Unfortunately, when I arrived at the pool it was green and full of leaves, which was disappointing. When I entered my twin room, I also noticed that under the bed closest to the window there were leftover food scraps and rubbish from a previous guest. This raised concerns about the overall cleanliness and room standards. On a positive note, the customer service at the bar and restaurant was very friendly and welcoming. The staff were lovely and created a great atmosphere. However, the condition of the room and the state of the pool were not up to scratch, which is disappointing given that my company sends a lot of business here. I hope these issues can be addressed moving forward, as the service side of the experience was fantastic.

Fire evacuation caused extreme anxiety and undue pressure on the elderly. Lack of fire control staff. Little direction from management

The alarm was triggered by a false alert, and Fire and Rescue NSW later confirmed there was no danger. I understand this does not take away from the anxiety the situation caused, especially for elderly guests, and I am sorry that the experience felt confusing and unsupported. Your comments about communication and on-ground direction are noted, and we will review our evacuation procedures to ensure clearer guidance and more visible support from the team. happy with stay. But didn't have body lotions/dental packs etc. Had to make special requests for have them... other than that front desk team was friendly.
