I recently stayed at the Mercure Maidstone and unfortunately my experience was very disappointing. Firstly, the room allocated to us was not accessible. We were placed in a loft room with no lift access, despite travelling with children. This made our stay unnecessarily difficult and inconvenient. A few days before arrival, I called the hotel to explain that it was my daughter’s birthday and that we wanted the room decorated as a surprise. The reception staff confirmed that this had been noted and assured me it would be taken care of. However, when we arrived, the room had not been decorated at all. I informed reception immediately and was told it would be looked into and that someone would get back to me — but no one ever did. This was extremely disappointing and really dampened what should have been a special occasion. The hotel itself is significantly run down. The ceiling in the pool area is visibly deteriorating and falling apart, which does not create a safe or pleasant environment. Overall, the property is in serious need of renovation and refurbishment. The only positive aspect of our stay was the restaurant — the food quality was acceptable and enjoyable. All in all, due to the lack of follow-through, poor room allocation, and the general condition of the hotel, I would not recommend staying here.

Ideally located for Maidstone, Leeds Castle and the surrounding area. Staff are lovely but the hotel is tired and could do with some maintenance.

I booked stay for my parents 32nd anniversary and there experience was 10/10 polite amazing staff specially Lisa accommodated and took care of them from day one and made the room beautiful for there anniversary special it was very generous of the team ♥️ the room was comfortable spacious and felt like home. The breakfast and dinner was tasty with lots of options also the spa was cherry on top with amazing hot tub swimming sauna steam room was just fabulous relaxing stay for my parents Thank you so much for an amazing experience will definitely book again soon

apart from an issue with the radiator in the first room occupied and the thermostat missing so room was boiling it was a very pleasant stay. As this issue could not be resolved we were eventually given another room . Good breakfast and enjoyed the health facilities. Evening meal options were limited so we chose to dine at a local restaurant instead of eating in the hotel. we were informed that January menu options tend to be limited, which is a shame as we would have dined in if menu choices were better. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Over all a very positive experience. Location very close to Leeds castle.
