I stayed here both Friday and Saturday night there were weddings and my room was close to the function suite and is extremely noisy all night, there are two fire alarms late at night which woke me up. So very poor sleep. Room was clean and bed and bedding were comfortable. The main problem I had was due to allergies it was worrying the restaurant staff lack of training and understanding. On breakfast there was a book on display so you could check out exactly what allergies foods had. I was disappointed to hear one waitress say to a waiter that she’ll just get a dodgy tummy if she eats that. So I’m not entirely sure they understand allergies can be life-threatening and need to be taken seriously. In the evening again I had a problem that the servers lack of knowledge so I asked to speak to the chef who came out to talk to me and was amazing with his help and then provided me with a three course dinner which was beautiful I was extremely grateful to him for his help and level of professionalism. If I hadn’t been for him I would not have eaten that evening as I had no trust in the service stuff and the menu did not describe if something was dairy free just vegan, it took me an hour just to get my starter. It would definitely be helpful to clarify if something is dairy free if it contains fish meat or eggs. I also bought my own milk which I asked to be put in the refrigerator but I was told it couldn’t be as there might be some cross contamination even though it was a sealed carton I was informed that they had that milk anyway and I could have it for breakfast when I came down the next day there was none available just soya oat and almond milk. I’d rather they have told me the truth. Obviously I understand it’s very difficult to cater for someone when they have allergies to both gluten and dairy. If you prepay before you arrive be careful as I was also charged on departure so I had to email and request a refund. Swimming pool and spa area was quite dirty the ladies changing rooms toilet bins are overflowing and stunk the hot tub wasn’t clean not a particular pleasant experience. I’d imagine this hotel was beautiful 20 years ago it certainly needs an update and isn’t worth it for the money they are charging. Obviously this is just my opinion. I had to stay here due to a business conference so it wasn’t a chosen location however I did expect it to be a lot nicer by the websites description.

We booked late check out.. didn’t get one when we turned up. We booked the hotel because it had a child friendly pool. Well the kids end was closed to to private hire and children from the hotel were left to play in 2.1 metres of depth. My son is 8. No life guards. So basically my son and I were playing in water out of both our depth. I would like to be contacted for compensation as this ruined are break 07…24

Room unbearably hot

It was a hot day when I stayed but the room was absolutely unbearable. No air con and no fans in the room. It was impossible to get ready to go out in the room,sweating buckets. Even when I came back later the room was too hot to sleep in. I had a very uncomfortable night. I wouldn't stay here again for this reason. If you are not going to have air con in a hotel you need to provide fans in your rooms. Breakfast was lovely and bed was big and comfortable if the room had been cooler it would have been a nice stay.

Nice hotel, tired, really needs a refurb. Fantastic breakfast, have just stayed 7 weeks at the sofitel in Singapore… Your breakfast was 100% nicer…
