the hotel suffers from a significant attitude issue, probably a reflection of the head operations, who didn't feel it necessary to meet even after making us wait for almost 30 mins. the hotel staff behave as if they are gods' gift to mankind, not realising that the hotel exists because of the guests and not otherwise.

We loved our stay at the Novotel from arrival to departure. It is very well located next to the river. I was thanked for my loyalty to Accor upon arrival and given an upgrade.(I am platinum) We enjoyed a welcome drink and were sent up to the club lounge on the 29th floor to finalise our arrival and enjoy the view with a drink while we waited for our rooms to be ready. My husband and I were travelling with our friend, so we were delighted to have 2 rooms side by side on the 30th floor overlooking the river and city. The view from our room was amazing and we had a very comfortable 7 nights there. Nice welcome amenities and hand written note from the GM. Also a delicious cheesecake for my hubby to celebrate his birthday. My only quibble would be the floor tiles in the shower..very slippery! We used a hand towel to rectify this, but perhaps some anti slip strips or a rubber mat would be a good idea. The club lounge was a lovely spot to relax in the early evening for drinks and canapés, and we were well attended to by the staff. The breakfast fare in the Square Restaurant was amazing! What a spread, it was difficult to choose each day. We enjoyed trying out the different Vietnames coffees at the ground floor Cafe each day. The thing that really made this hotel so wonderful for us was the amazing team who work there. So engaging and friendly. We didn't want to leave. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others.
