The overnight stay was one of the worse due to the weather. The staff were as usual, friendly and very helpful with organising lighting for each guest. The downside about the stay was the accommodations did not have any hot water in the morning. The hot water system was dependent on electricity.

A great place to unwind, large comfortable beds and well maintained facilities. We enjoyed the delicious continental and/or cooked breakfasts each day before exploring around Margaret River. Staff are welcoming and friendly and the grounds are beautifully kept and full of colour and bird life year round. Always look forward to the daily afternoon tea cake that Basildene puts on.

May is a great time to visit the area and GM Basildene is a warm part of the experience. The weather is mild and the sunsets over the river mouth stunning. The hotel breakfast excellent and the quince tree in the garden in full fruit! We’re regular visitors to the property and always enjoy our time in the old house.
