Only criticism I have is that on the Friday the aircon was being attended to between 10am and 2pm so we felt we had to be out of the room and this was the day of my husbands birthday. It wasn’t too bad in the end but we felt obligated to change our dinner plans to lunch just so we were definitely out.

We had a wonderful stay at The Grand Mercure Basildene Manor. It is a beautiful and charming hotel in a historic building and very luxurious with an interesting history. The service was outstanding and the staff were all very friendly and provided great tips for what to do in the area. The full breakfast was delicious. The grounds have gorgeous gardens that we overlooked during breakfast. Would definitely recommend and also would return to this amazing hotel and wonderful staff!

We stayed for a week in Basildene Manor and thoroughly enjoyed it. The decor is very well done, the staff are friendly and down to earth, the location is excellent and the building and gardens are beautiful.

We were down there for our wedding anniversary and the overall experience during our 3 day could not have been better. The stay exceeded our expectations topped off by the great venue and wonderful staff service in every area. We will certainly put the Manor on our stay list fot the region and will visit again. Highly recommended
