I was travelling with a friend who has a lung disease and can only walk about 50 metres with oxygen. The staff were helpful, pleasant, professional, engaging, friendly and could not have done more to support us. I’m extremely grateful. The staff make this place, management please note, you are blessed to have such an amazing team interacting with your customers. Would be grateful if you could share my feedback with them. Breakfast was expensive

Standards have drastically dropped in this place over the years. Check-in / Reservation: Everyone was offered a welcome drink that came in besides myself and my wife. We had 3 to 4 groups of people that checked-in after us and all were offered a welcome mulled wine on arrival except for us. Our requests to have our rooms close to each other was not adhered to despite my wife putting it in writing and have confirmed this over the phone with someone from reservations last Monday prior to arrival. Why give us a call to confirm this when you cannot adhere to this request? - Why allow for customers to have this expectations but not able to meet it? Despite the many correspondence prior to arrival, it felt like as though all the communication was obsolete. Seems like no traces were set nor anything was communicated. Breakfast: Was good but definitely not worth the full price. The best part about breakfast was being greeted warmly by Davide! It was really encouraging to see a warm smile in the morning and be greeted enthusiastically on both mornings we were there. Coffee by Fairuz (I think this was her name) was amazing as well. One of the best in the 10 years we have been visiting. Service on Friday morning breakfast was slightly poor despite having very little customers compared to Saturday morning. When asked for a table to be wiped down, was kindly implied by Ann through her body language that it was not her job. We were not being offered if we would like barista coffee / eggs from the kitchen then. This was different from Saturday where we were immediately acknowledged by Jhope who quickly took our orders and organised them promptly. Dinner: Food quality was good but not the best we had. Was not aware that the Restaurant has been rebranded. Felt like the food options were too casual for an 'upmarket' restaurant. The assistant F&B manager was more engrossed in working on Canva than greeting customers who were standing in front of them waiting to be seated. Service from all other staff members was great. Welcome Drinks: We were not informed on check-in that the welcome drink must be consumed either pre-dinner or post-dinner. Very different from all other Accor properties we have stayed in through the years with the program. It was harder for us to use them as well as we have 2 young kids with us, which made it difficult for us to come in for pre-dinner drinks or stay behind for post-dinner drinks. Very disappointed considering we were looking forward to our first road trip with the arrival of our newborn and celebrating both me and my wife's birthdays. Rooms: Cleanliness was great as always. Requested for extra towels and amenities that were delivered promptly. Big wide smiles as well, seems like their customer service levels were better than those serving breakfast on Friday (minus Davide). Wifi was not working in one of the rooms we booked. We have asked for it to be fixed in the 3 nights there which was not done. We were informed by our family that someone has called us to arrange for a room move, but we have not received any phone calls at all (hate liars!). We were told that we can use the wifi at the lobby instead. It was hard for us as we had international guests staying in there with young infant and having young children ourselves. Furthermore with the wet weather when we were there, it was impossible for us to head over to reception with young children just for wifi. Not happy about this at all. Check-out / Porter: It was really great to see Luke and the other Fijian gentleman (can't remember his name, but have been seeing him all the time over the past 2 years - Sorry!). Amazing service as always and nothing seems too hard for them. Thank you for always looking after us! Overall, the stay was good but extremely underwhelming. I personally feel that lots have changed through the years. The most detrimental thing about this trip was not having wifi in one of our rooms that caused grave inconvenience to our family members visiting from overseas. Service standards have also drastically declined and everyone looked really overworked. While I understand that it is a quiet season of the year and the resort is down to skeleton staff, I think the big key here is 'Expectation Management'. If the customers' (our) expectations were managed from the beginning, the stay would have been much greater. Don't promise or create expectations if they can't be met. To end, this will not deter us from going back. It is one of our preferred places to go to, especially with our families. They all love it there. We have booked in to be back in October with a few other family members from overseas. Hope we do not get allocated to a room with wifi issues as this will be detrimental again for our foreign guests. Hopefully by then as the resort prepares to enter its peak season once again, things will be better.
