My wife and I were celebrating 30years together so we decided to head down to bunker bay for a couple of nights, our studio king villa was great couldn’t fault the room ,went for dinner that night at other side of the moon food was good lighting was very poor next morning we had the buffet breakfast which was really bad ,nearly every dish was at best lukewarm ,lunch later was good but we had planned to go outside for a drink and watch the whales swim by only to be told that a wedding party had booked the area but only took 2 tables up so disappointed to say the least and then no bookings available for dinner on our last night but to there credit allowed us room service without an extra charge unfortunately the food was below par so that was the end of our romantic weekend away.

Overall, very enjoyable however the resort is tired and needs some TLC and modernising. I stayed there over 10 years ago, and everything looks the same. For marketing as a 5 star resort the accommodation does need to be upgraded to reflect. I know 5 star included lots of other services also, ie Restaurant, pool, spa, tennis court etc .

Went away for our babymoon and it was not what we expected. First night - we were charged twice at the bar for one round of drinks. We told them we had already signed a receipt but they couldnt find it and made us sign another one and when we got back to the room to check our bill we sure enough had been charged twice. We rung them and they said they would get reception to call. We never got that call. They said they were short staffed For dinner we did room service as a Wedding was on. They hung up the phone before we finished our order so didnt get everything we wanted- fish was soggy and gnocchi wasnt cooked properly. Next day we were due to have our couples massages - got a call 2 hours before saying that one went home sick so only one could attend and it was too late to find replacement. Defeats the purpose of a couples massage - one being a much needed pregnancy massage which was the one that was cancelled. Tried calling back three times to tell them to cancel whole thing. No one answered so ended up having to drive back from the brewery to go and sort it. To be told they have no staff at all. Went back to our room mid afternoon and it wasnt made up. When your pregnant in the afternoon all you want to do is nap. I called and they said they would send someone. An hour later she came and said they are short staffed. We left for an hour to go for a walk and came back and all was done was the dishes. Bed was not made and bathroom just had new towels. I heard cleaners from the balcony say they had all their jobs for the day, yet why was our service not complete. I then rung and advised them and they said they would send someone. Super tired at this point and after another hour of having no one my husband had to make the bed so we could relax. No one ever came. I ended up calling and complaining and Mitch was really good and understanding on the phone. The charge for the extra drinks was still showing on the account, which we were told had been sorted that morning. So he managed to sort it all out. This wasnt the type of service you would expect from a 5 star hotel, considering how much we paid per night. Was not a relaxing weekend away. They need to sort out the staffing issues We usually love staying here but wont be back anytime soon.

We managed to get an upgraded room with lake view. Lovely quiet spot. Weather was not great but very happy with the comfort and presentation of the room.

The first day I was quite impressed and the following morning our room was made up quite early. Our experience went downhill from here. The housekeeping was terrible and one of the days we were there our room was not made up at all. The spa did not answer a single one of my messages or emails and after checkout I have found out they were actually closed which is what I suspected but kept getting told they would contact me. The food was basic and I don't think the chef has ever tasted the Gnocci dish you serve your guests or he would know how terrible it was. I have stayed in many 5 x star hotels and resorts and the reason these places have 5 x stars is because they go above and beyond for their patrons. I would not consider your establishment to be any more than a 3 star resort and I would never recommend anyone stay there.
