Clean basic hotel. Small room, but had everything but a hairdryer. Next to Novotel with restaurant and pool. Lots of security. Nice staff.

Not informed before booking the room that the hotel is under recinstruction and there is a lot of noises!

New IBIS Styles is a significant improvement

Although construction work is ongoing I have really appreciated the new set-up of the IBIS Styles rooms. There are a few start-up issues to be resolved, but this is normal and I really appreciated the new look and feel.

A construction zone

My stay at Ibis Dakar was deeply disappointing; the reception area put me in mind of a Soviet-era border checkpoint; the wait for the lone elevator was often interminable; lighting in the hallways was often dim or non-existant; construction noise from drills and hammers was frequent; amenities like a coffee machine or a kettle were nowhere to be seen; coffee, breakfast and a bar service were all available at the Novotel next door. I inquired about a room at the Novotel but it was fully booked. My room at the Ibis should have come with a hefty discount, but of course it didn't, notwithstanding the mission statement in the lobby in which the proprietors pledge to provide their clients with the best possible service. What a crock!
