Cramped room, tiny bathroom with even less space. Amenities like shampoo/conditioner lacking. The images online depicted it as much larger than it actually was which was deceiving. Felt like poor value for the money spent.

Amateurish check in procedure, took far too long. Towels in room covered in white fluff. No water in room. Somebody came into one of our rooms at 0130, switched on the light, then left. In the morning at 0700 the reception called a member of our party to ask if we paid, and to provide proof. We had paid at check in. Terrible experience.

Our family of 4 spent the first night of our trip to Senegal at the Ibis. The Novotel and Ibis are connected so we dined in the Novotel and used the gym (brand new equipment) The buffet breakfast was better than expected and the staff were very helpful

The hotel was well located in downtown Dakar and the pool area was nice. However, the hotel had very few amenities, the restaurant was horrible-- the 'roasted' potatoes were raw on the inside and it was incredibly expensive considering it was the worst meal I had in my 3 weeks in Senegal. I felt very uncomfortable in this hotel as a female business traveler on my own. At the restaurant a man who was staying in the hotel wanted to sit at my table with me and when I said no, he got angry and the hotel staff asked me to accommodate him and let him sit with me. I also had an uncomfortable incident with a male guest of the hotel at the pool and this also was completely ignored.

The staff were extremely kind considering I speak very little French, they helped with cab hailing and explaining to the driver where I was headed - this made my commute very easy. The breakfast selection was great- good variety, delicious and filling. The room was good- great shower, working AC, comfortable bed. Could have used more drinking water in the room given the hot Dakar weather, one bottle was not sufficient . Overall, I had a great stay!
