I chose the Movenpick for two reasons: 1. Your “ zero plastic waste policy” 2. Your outdoor pool heated to 31 degrees Certain members of the staff were very kind-Mr Bamba and the manager Ms K. I was looking forward to having more traditional West African food-niebe, mil, yams, plantains-healthy eco-friendly foods that were virtually absent from your restaurants. The buffet fish was often over-cooked.Grilling/baking fries it out-cooking with vegetables and a little olive oil would be better. Too much cheap seed oil was in use, instead of real olive oil. Serving an outdoor buffet in a hot climate doesn’t seem like a good idea to me-so much waste. Miles of aluminum foil and plastic wrap, ice, extra energy used to keep things hot and cold. Travelers are warned to not eat pre-cut fruit in hot countries, but you serve almost all your fruit pre-cut. More waste! Even if it’s given to pigs, it’s still wasteful, when so many people don’t have enough to eat. Music -eg. at the pool for exercise classes-was way too loud! You could hear it far off the property. For guests trying to relax/sleep/concentrate/tele-commute, it was a big minus.On-line meetings were virtually impossible. I was disappointed to see no organic foods-not even eggs, and so few whole foods ( brown rice, whole fruits, nuts, seeds,beans, whole corn, root vegetables with their greens, etc.)

I had a problem with floating Cocoon room, with toilet not flushing and had to change the room. Also the music from restaurant stage we so loud as the floating room facing right to the stage and the walls of the floating room is so thin that I could not have a good rest when I was in the room..

We stayed one night. Not great from check in to check out. I had read bad reviews about the resort and thought it couldn’t be that bad, but it actually was. When we arrived for check in, the technician to make our room keys was not there so we didn’t get our keys straight away. We had to wait an hour and a half and had to come back to the reception to pick them up since no one gave us any news. Upon arrival in the room, the AC was not working - and it was 35 degrees outside / very hot. Therefore we couldn’t stay in the room. A technician came by, stayed a few minutes, said he would be back but never did and we had to go back to the reception to ask when it would be fixed. It ended up being fixed a few hours later, but meanwhile the room was not usable because we booked the cocoon floating room which heats up very fast on water. The activities were also not great : not much to do & not well managed (no towels in the gym for example). Food was overall not great - we ended up being both sick the next day. Finally, at 10:45PM someone from the hotel came to our room to knock, insistently so we ended up opening after him knocking a few times. What a surprise when his only need was to check our water pressure…. At almost 11PM when we were already in bed… we declined him entering in our room at that hour. You can understand why we were very disappointed, the resort is clearly not at the standards of the Accor group and the Movenpick brand.

Overall, my stay was good and I had a pleasant experience. However, the first room I was given had no electricity and seemed quite old, so I had to ask for another one. Also, at the beach, I noticed that the sunbeds had some mold on them, which made me think they might not be cleaned regularly.
