Even though I was told I was given a VERY BEAUTIFUL ROOM, the one I got was very casual, the TV screen is very small, just a small window in the room. I was very disappointed by this Novotel. At the restaurant the choice is very limited. Breakfast is expensive, almost 20€.

Stayed for business. Food is mediocre, some aspects of room require freshening up... Torn curtain, badly finished flooring near toilet, TV channels poor, bathroom showing age. Staff not all cheerful. Music on patio disturbing late in the evening. But bed clean and tidy. Internet good throughout. I hope they keep up their standards as it has always been a hotel I like.

It is the second time that I stay here for business reasons, and my stays are always very long. the hotel overall is not bad but it is not possible that every time I go to the hotel's restaurant and ask for food, I always have to wait 50/60 minutes before being served a dish. ALWAYS. The hotel claims to be a 4 star, but the restaurant service doesn't even deserve 1 star.

On arrival no water was in the room. I asked twice but none forthcoming. No service at the bar they were to busy setting up for a buffet of some sort. No shampoo in the room. No coffee in the room.

The hotel is at a good location , situated in downtown Dakar. Its very suitable location for business travellers as most of the government offices are just a stone throw distance. Most of the time the hotel is full so if you want to book the hotel, do it on time.

The hotel is old, dirty moquette on the floor, poor quality breakfast. The bill that was presented to me was higher than supposed to be. I had to insist with the personnel to double-Check the bill and finally I was right. The bed was old and making noise at every move. I don’t advice this hotel.

Could not wait to leave. Luckily a short trip. Rooms old and moldy. Novotel should be ashamed that their brand is associated with this property. Obviously just a cash cow they are milking. And to think the rate was > $200/night. Absolutely criminal. All staff were super helpful and pleasant - only upside.

Where were all the staff?

One person busy for 5 minutes on arrival. No bar staff. Several times I stood at the bar for more than 5 minutes before a person appeared. Managers seem present in the morning but it seems almost like the place runs itself from afternoon onwards. Had one drink with a colleague at the outside bar before joined by a colleague. Our empty glasses had been on the table already for 20 minutes then another person joined us. After calling for someone to ask the man want he wanted he failed to even notice we were empty and when I asked if we could get a drink he said (translated) "I see you had your drink but if you wish to continue drinking...drink some more!". Now I'm not sure but from a serving staff member this is downright rude surely??

The property is well placed near the town center. Good facilities, neat and clean. The views from the room are pretty good. Food was appetizing. Airport pick up and drop was provided, even when I had a 6.30 morning flight.
