Having previously stayed in the attached budget section when in Málaga, I found this hotel not much better, despite being in an 'executive suite' it was very basic. Tiny airplane style toilet, cupboard not opening despite maintenance coming, having to have maintenance come to put up curtain between the bedroom area and suite area as only half was up, bed not made up for my daughter. Strange to have a sort of kitchen in the room, yet no plates or cutlery. Breakfast was basic, limited choice and options, hot options limited and not very pleasant. Positives being a good location, very easy for getting around Málaga, and the staff were all very friendly. Would have been happy with the hotel if more reasonably priced, we definitely felt the price was not reflective of the quality.

I had a wonderful stay in Malaga and was extremely satisfied with the hotel’s services. The location was fantastic, the rooms were very comfortable, and the staff were incredibly professional and helpful—every single one of them. For a family with five kids two suite rooms are just perfect. The team is adorable and very supportive of large families. We were there last year and immediately convinced of the concept and the team...so back soon!! Also location location location.... the old town is at your door step and if you walk in the other direction you are immediately in the beautiful port area with all its shops restaurants and fantastic nightlife. From start to finish the hotel experience was disappointing. I had a car and asked how to park, the man at reception just said go to the car parking and didn't explain the ticket system. We started paying daily until we asked another staff member surely there is an easier way and then he explained we could pay upfront and get another ticket. Anything we wanted such as iron, dental kit etc we had to go down to reception to get it. What are we paying the hotel for? Self service? The cleaning of the room was below standard and they left rubbish and dirty cutlery in the room. The lift is so old and takes ages to arrive. You also need to park the car in the basements and brinv the luggage up yourself. As a Novotel I expected way more service than we received. The ONLY decent thing was the location.

The a/c in my room wasn't working, the curtain had holes in it, and the wardrobe door was rusty and got stuck several times, and the toilet flush kept running. Room was number 516. My partner and I complained, unfortunately, they couldn't do anything on that night as it was late and the hotel was at full capacity. The front of the house team was very friendly, they moved us the next day to a better room (way better). Why the hotel would sell a room in such poor conditions? It cost me £500 for 2 nights, and the headache wasn't worth the money. Very frustrated with this experience.

We booked Accor hotel as we wanted a quality stay and our Accor hotel experiences in Australia and Asia were very good. We arrived and in the middle of summer the the air con was not working. The reception staff were nice and tried to help but it made out stay uncomfortable and we had trouble sleeping. We wanted to book more Accor hotels for other parts of Europe, the UK and Cyprus but are now not sure as we don’t want to experience the same lack of quality.
