room is good. location near subway, but still a little long for walk therre does not have heat air conditioner, while it also did not got central heating

Satisfied: 1. The receptionists are nice and welcoming. 2. The location is great Dissatisfied: 1. The facilities are outdated considering the price 2. I could not connect to the WIFI as the verification system never sent the SMS to my phone. I tried my Chinese number and UK number without success. I called the front desk twice and waited for 1.5 hours, they said they would send someone but nobody came. Eventually I gave up and did not have WIFI during my entire stay for 2 nights.

We were in a Suite on level 10, which was very comfortable. Service was generally very good apart from a meal we had at the Cantonese restaurant on level 3. Wrong meal, and tardy service, and questions about our credit account which would have been better for staff to resolve internally, then talk to us rather than try and hold us up

Hotel staffs were lovely and front desk noticed guests' needs fast. The room was very spacious and bed was comfortable. Service is top-notch but there were a couple of front desk staffs who do not really speak English. Once I had to help translate what the guest was enquiring.

We booked through Singapore Airlines Holidays and chosen Grand Mercure Central Beijing at Xidan. Near the intern city train station and shopping Malls along the area. But we have indicated 2A 1K and bought 3 breakfast tickets for our hotel stay. But the replenish of toiletries sets can improve further. We requested changed of bathing towels 2 pcs, the housekeeping only replaced us back 1 pcs of bathing towel. The tub does not come with shower curtain to keep the water inside the tub and the floor gets wet easily w/o that curtain blocking. We ordered fried rice through room service and the cutlery sets don’t come w spoon. Noted their local culture don’t provide spoon unless requested but Grand Mercure is a international hotel should have standard SOP.

I booked an queen bed room on the executive floor, and I had a room smelling so bad, smoky and with old furniture ! Hopefully I was just staying 2 nights but for this price and this brand, I was so disappointed. Good breakfast nevertheless.

Room very good. Breakfast very good. Location walking 8min to subway. The only thing, is the hotel from all china, missing humen been- i mean workrs. I needed to wait long for reception, any time i had question. It was only 2 people to serve all the hotel. All the time. Even in breakfast missing waitress.

Disappointingly average

Check in was done after 22PM, and staff was not the friendliest. The bar was closed. I heard from the shop that the bar was under renovation. Nobody told us at check-in. My Silver member was not recognized. The room was cold, had to close the aircon and the window.

The location is perfect for tourists. The staff is amiable, but lacks English skills. Also, they told us that we cannot use the subway system as we would need Alipay/Wechat pay (that's wrong, you can buy tickets with cash). The club lounge offers an incredibly tasty breakfast, whereas the food during happy hour was underwhelming. Given the price, however, that's okay. Would book again.

Run down rooms needing refurbishment

I am surprised that given the previous trip advisor reviews and pictures you have not taken steps to smarten up your rooms. The carpet in our room was disgusting and other furniture totally dishevelled. The breakfast and dinner in v9 have large selection but is not of high quality and often hot food items have gone cold. The majority of staff we encountered do not speak basic English. We booked an international brand as we don’t speak mandarin and anticipated needing support. We are not ignorant and I speak 4 languages but we needed support we couldn’t get.
