Always a pleasure to stay at this property. The room was very clean, spacious and very nicely arranged. The food in the breakfast is well presented and offered a good selection and the service at the front desk was stellar. My complements to the front desk staff. Its a pity there is no HBO anymore.

Generally an excellent hotel with a good staff and well maintained facilities. Centrally located and easy to reach with several major subway stations closeby. Generally the treatment from the staff in the hotel is excellent, with an excellent lobby manager who welcomes guests, but some work needed in the health centre and during checkin to make guests feel welcome in the hotel.

Accor member and upgraded to premier floor upon arrival, hotel under Novotel management has been updated and is generally in good condition though some hotel and room features are clearly yesteryears, friendly staff and efficient service, but location makes the hotel a good choice for business and leisure travelers, only complantt being WiFi network was rather slow especially in the evening which needs to be upgraded badly for business travelers

The hotel is ideally located in central Beijing. The hotel accommodation is reasonable, and staff is friendly and helpful. The location is very good, with easy accesses and short distance from the subway stations and shopping center.

The hotel was close to a big shopping centre in xidan and the forbidden city. One metro line from the silk factory and the zoo. The staff were very accommodating and helpful particularly the manager who helped us get a taxi to the airport the last day and also to ring our tour company. The pool was nice but be advised you need a swim cap that you can purchase for 20cny. The only downsides were the roads closed around the hotel due to its central location at 4pm the last day we were there and we needed to get to the airport for a flight at 1.50 am meaning we sat in the airport from 4.30pm. This wasn't the hotels fault it was due to a practice for the military parade but still it was annoying. Also the first day we stayed toilet roll and water was not topped up in our room but the next day everything was restocked including some noodles to snack on.

The hotel is conveniently located quite close to Tien An Men square and Forbidden City and not far for the financial center of Beijing. Rooms spacious. Good breakfast an restaurant. Very good service. Staff helpful.

Issues happen – but you can always tell how good a business is by the way they resolve issues….. We turned up at the hotel and due to a misunderstanding the rooms we booked were not available. The Hotel Manager (Cindy) took this issue very seriously and resolved the room issue as quickly and efficiently as possible without delaying or impacting our holiday. Overall the hotel is in a great location for the metro and near major sites, clean and with good facilities such swimming pool, gym etc. As mentioned the staff are excellent and cannot do enough to make your stay comfortable and help with sightseeing etc. It was a great hotel to stay at for the end of our holiday and I would not hesitate to recommend it or stay there again.

Sadly the check in overshadowed everything else in the stay. Having booked a multi destination tour of China, I paid for all my hotel bookings only to find that the email the hotel had sent me saying the balance to pay was nil and that it was all paid was in fact just a guarantee. So after a long flight we are sat in the lobby unable to access banks due to not having a vpn and wanting to turn around and go straight home. There was very little assistance at all despite the fact they knew from my emails that I was terminally ill. I don’t speak Mandarin but learnt a few key phrases and had an English/Chinese translating app. Still not very helpful. So I ended up paying for the hotel three times-my bank eventually confirmed that the guarantee had fallen off the original card. In addition to this, the hotel automatically switch the currency paid to that of your card-hence making more money on the booking. I asked them to pay in the local currency as this was the whole purpose of using this card and it was £7 cheaper. Whilst I found that unsatisfactory the hotel was clean and modern. WiFi was very poor-kept pushing you out and then you couldn’t get back in. Breakfast was an interesting event-lots of steamed vegetables and an egg blunter where you could have omelettes made for you but I ended up having a few pieces of fruit as a lot of the dishes weren’t labelled and it seems the Chinese like to slip pork into everything. We ate one meal in the hotel which was rubbish. Absolutely rubbish and overpriced but we ate it because we were starving. My pizza was like a shop bought base with some sliced tomato, tomato purée and cheese on. Awful. My husbands starter and meal did not resemble the menu item and it took a long time for the meal to come. The room was comfortable, quiet, the air con was good. We didn’t turn on the tv. Shower was good and there was a hairdryer (we were on the executive floor.) The usual Grand Mercure shampoos and body lotion were available. Not far from Tianamen square and a ten minute walk to a shopping mall the location wasn’t bad. In fact our guide said it was a good location. The poor service overshadowed the visit, they are not set up for Western Tourists and they don’t want to accommodate them. I am not going to recommend this hotel to anyone else. I would not return here.

Having been used to the fantastic Accor standards of Grand Mercures in other cities, this one in Beijing Central was a complete let down for my family. My family travelled with me this time to have a vacation as I get some work done. This hotel in Beijing Central is old and shabby. We reserved for 6 nights. But after a night decided that this is not the place we would like to stay on a family vacation. We changed to Novotel Beijing Peace. It proved to be a great decision. This Grand Mercure Peace could be a decent hotel for business travelers but I would not recommend it for a family stay. It is old and shabby.

Accor not working at Grand Mecure Beijing Central

Normally when I book with Accor on line in New Zealand I get a confirmation email and payment is taken from the credit card. But for some reason when booking here, I received email confirmation but no money was deducted from credit card. When I was checking in the staf kept telling me that I had to pay and wanted confirmation of booking. To complicate it, I had a Google email so I couldn't access my emails. It was such a hassel getting someone else in New Zealand to access my account, send an email to the hotel still to be told that I have to pay. Then I had to get someone else to check my banking in New Zealand only to realise that NO payment had been taken. To top it off, when I then paid I had to pay at the hotel's current rate and not the discount that I would have had when I booked on line. Accor works well in Hong Kong, Fiji, Australia and New Zealand BUT I suggest flagging using the company when booking with this hotel in China. For the record, I have no problem with the hotel service, rooms, food etc, all excellent.

Everything was perfect, although they should have more people who speak English. The condition of the room was very good, well maintained. The housekeeping did their job very well. Always tidy, clean and they never forgot to refill the tea/coffee. The location of the hotel is quite closed to 2 metro station. It's also near shuttle bus stop number 2 from the airport, Xidan stop.

690loicb Solo travel - TripAdvisor review

Hotel situation was good to visit place Tien An Men and shopping center. The room was large but the view not very well. Wifi connexion doesn't work very well. I d'ont tried the breakfast or restaurant in the hotel.
