We stayed for one night. The room was nice just a few small issues. The tv did not work and the temperature of the water from the taps in the bath didn’t go above warm. We paid £5 to rent bath robes and they were really uncomfortable and frayed, one even had a hole in it.

Staff on arrival helpful and polite. Disappointed with condition of room, while clean the fridge and safe were not working correctly. A staff member reset the safe but it still did not work. In addition, not enough toiletries included. Breakfast was very good with a wide variety and helpful staff. Could be even better by being asked by staff if any further drinks are required. Pool and thermal suite was very good and enjoyable.

We had an absolutely lovely time staying here and using the spa. The pool is lovely and the spa treatments were first class, hosted by welcoming and professional staff who worked hard to put us at ease. The room was spotlessly clean and well provisioned, although a stocked mini-bar would have been appreciated. Breakfast in the glass room next to the winter gardens was a real treat and felt quite other-worldly, and the breakfast itself was outstanding. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend a weekend get-away here.

Having stayed on a previous occasion which I was very pleased with, I was hopeing this stay would be a good, I wasnt dissapointed. The staff on the reception were very helpful and pleasant on my arrival the bar staff were excellent. The room was great and cleaned each day to a very high standard. I used the spa on this stay and would like to say how great the young lady who have me a massage was excellent 10 out of 10, will be back.

The hotel is lovely, our room was spacious and very clean. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. However, at 1am on the sunday, the occupants of room 124 (We were 126) returned and were really loud, woke us up. They stayed chatting outside for ages, 3 women and 1 male. It seems he wasn't a guest but they invited him in. I looked out the door peep hole as they were making so much noise. They went in their room finally and carried on being loud. I fell asleep eventually and was woken up again at half 2am hearing loud noises, swearing and it sounded like an argument I rang reception at this point and they said they would send someone up. I looked out the door peep hole and saw a member of staff stand outside, but as it was then quiet, he left. The noise stopped. I know hotels can't control how their guests behave, but it's really frustrating when you have booked a night away to get some quiet time and good sleep away from children and your hotel night is ruined and your sleep is disturbed. Very disappointing and would make me rethink staying overnight again.

We were in room 120, first night very quite but second night room 122 became very noisy there were a lot of people staying in room coming and going banging the room door. Thus went on all night. They had food then Left the plates outside our room.

Fantastic stay in what is , in my opinion, the 'best' hotel in Sheffield. Great staff, Sandeep and Gaia and Prez on front desk, Owan in breakfast and the bar made our stay absolutely superb. Michelle also provides excellent help and srvice on the corporate side. They make you feel at home and welcomed. The hotel is a great place to stay, for business or pleasure and I really enjoy staying here. This is what service should be!

My husband and me were staying for the night after our daughter's city centre wedding. There were around 20 rooms taken for the wedding party, some of whom stayed more than 1 night. We were told by our friends and family that the rooms were not cleaned after their first night - including my daughters - the bride, she returned to a room that had not been cleaned after her wedding. Our niece had a 12 week old baby and there was no water for over 24 hours - very unacceptable. The people staying on the day of the wedding were unable to shower. The total cost of the wedding was around £15k and this put a cloud over what was otherwise a perfect day. Completely unacceptable standards and not what we expected from an Accor hotel. We would have been better serviced by the Travelodge. My husbands All account number is 30…2872 he stays over 100 nights per year in various hotels with his job and he was very disappointed with the whole experience.

Rooms Ok apart from kettle not working and toilet not flushing properly. Wedding breakfast :- chicken overdone, rosti had raw potato in it. carrots and broccoli were so hard that the knife would not cut them and the gravy was saltier than the North Sea.

On arrival we had mentioned that there was brown water from the tap and that the toilets would not flush. On our return late back to the hotel. Toilets had not been fixed. Next morning I mentioned it again at the reception who then send the maintenance man who fixed it. That was a bit inconvenient.

We initially booked another hotel in the city centre of Sheffield but cancelled our booking owing to the fact there was no swimming pool . We booked a double room at the Mercure and on checkin enquired as to the pools opening hours and were told the holiday opening time was 8.00 am. As we were only staying overnight this was ideal but on attending the pool at 8.00 am the following morning were told that it wasn't open due to the fact that "the levels were low "and had not been checked the night before. This was very disappointing for this standard of hotel as this was the main reason for booking with Mercure in the first instance. There were a number of family members staying at the Mercure, due to a wedding, who were also left disappointed.

Really happy with the service which is always excellent both at reception and for breakfast. We had a large group and I had multiple reservations which reception sorted perfectly. Room was spotless (thank you Svetlana for an excellent job). There were two things that weren't quite up to scratch. We noticed half-eaten plates of food on the main stairwell which hadn't been removed for over a day - apart from the smell there's an obvious fire escape hazard. There was also a problem with our room temperature - was far too hot and attempts at changing the temp lower (as advised be reception) made little difference. We were offered a room swap, but we preferred not to have to uplift everything for our final night (we had a little one with us and she'd be unsettled). Hoping that this was recorded so that when maintenance were back in they could take a look. A little problem was noted by family who came to meet us one day, they were after some coffee but said they felt a bit fobbed off as no one was around to provide at the bar - I appreciate this isn't the main purpose of the hotel and there are plenty of other coffee places around! I think it made them upset, but can understand the priority for staff to sort resident breakfasts. The second (single) bed base looked very shabby (material torn in multiple places), but didn't spoil our stay.
