£10 Pool Charge!!

TripAdvisor rating 1.0/5

Tom J TripAdvisor review

£10 charge to visit the pool per person, per day! It's called a "wet charge" apparently. Pool wasn't even that nice. Quite dirty and lockers didn't work. Ridiculous. We booked this hotel specifically because it had a pool. This charge isn't mentioned on the website or at check-in. Never been charged extra to use hotel facilities before at any other hotel. We won't be coming here again. Probably try the new Radisson to be honest...

Very disappointing experience

I booked this hotel as it promised a swimming pool, however a payment of as much as £10 is asked by hotel customers to use the pool. I feel that I have been sold a hotel room on false pretences - a very disappointing experience I could have done without, and no attempts to clarify by hotel staff

Wonderul hotel with great staff!

Swills4 Couples - TripAdvisor review

From the start, communication was great. So helpful being told about the car parks nearby and thank you for the discount code! Great location, right in the centre. 3 minutes from the car park was a great help in the rain too. Room is massive, so clean and everything you need. Plus extra tea and milk when needed, thank you. Staff are absolutely amazing. Quick and easy check in and out and thank you so much for fitting us in for breakfast too! Much appreciated. Sorry I can’t remember names, but reception staff and the lady in the restaurant were so helpful and accommodating. Great stay, will definitely stay again. Sadly didn’t have time to use the Spa, next time!

Having stayed at St Paul’s many times over the years but not recently I was suprised how the overall appearance of the hotel has deteriorated it is looking very tired We booked a privilege room £169 but found no air conditioning the cover of the unit was actually on the floor as was two stop ends of the skirting board I told reception this and someone brought me a plug in heater !!!! Breakfast the following morning was ok but not as good as I remembered they also want to charge you £10 to use the pool which in my mind is penny pinching I told all this to Scott the manager who very kindly adjusted our bill All in all is was very disappointed in what used to be Sheffields flag ship hotel

A good stay

Booked in for a conference stay , room was ok and met my needs , The room was very clean and very large . The reception staff were especially helpful , the restaurant breakfast was good and the staff again were excellent. I do have a couple of small negatives for me and that was the restaurant in the evening ,I had intended to eat out but the weather was not good so chose to eat in , it seemed a soulless place very dark although the food was ok if I had been there multiple nights I would not have gone back for a 2nd night. The other is the conference catering, but that could have been specified by the Conference Organiser
