Had a 2 night spa experience for my 50th birthday. Room was lovely clean and spacious and meals were good and choice excellent. Spa area wasn’t all open but warned before going. Very relaxing area and treatments very professional

PROS: Helpful Staff; Tidy room/bathroom; Bathroom was new; Good view; Spa facilities was excellent; Spa treatment on the first day was very relaxing and very experienced beauty therapist; Swimming pool was clean, warmed and wasn’t over chloride; Restaurant staff very friendly and helpful; the quality of some of the food for dinner was good such as the chicken/beef burgers and the salmon. CONS: The spa treatment on the second day felt rushed and not so relaxing; limited menu which is understandable; breakfast wasn’t that great; some parts of the building is outdated such as the corridor, walls, room carpet etc; We were placed quite far from the spa which meant we had to walk through the whole building. We’d happily stay again however a full refurbishment would make the experience a lot better.

After a hiccup with appointments for spa treatment, we were not only accommodated and staff very professional but the stay was flawless from check in to check out. Staff down to earth and just lovely from reception to dining staff nothing is too much trouble. Executive room stunning huge beds in twin room and stunning views from windows. Did struggle with all the stairs as walk with a stick otherwise am enjoyable stay

Refurb looks lovely - room was spacious bed v comfortable and having somewhere to sit in room was great. Staff very helpful and friendly too - our preferred base for visiting family. Only minor issue was breakfast was very basic in quality compared to what we have had before

A little disappointed

Staff we're great in the current circumstances they worked very well and kept professional. The evening meal was lovely and enjoyed by both of us. However we was only notified by email the night before the spa facilities were not open, then to ask to be charged £5 each for robes we thought was not good service as we have been many times before and never had this charge. Considering we only had the pool to lounge we thought the robes charge was abit out of order. The breakfast team were great only 2 staff on and still did great,I requested eggs Benedict and was told this service was also not available so was disappointed again. But I would say we did have a room that had been refurbished and was done to a lovely standard. We also noticed that there will be parking charges in the future which wasn't in place on our other stays.

Hello, I must say I am extremely disappointed with mine and my partners one night stay in the hotel. We rarely get the chance to a night alone without our 3 children and we were so excited to spend a day/night in your hotel and to use the all the facilities (jacuzzi sauna steam room). When we arrived there wasn’t a very warm welcome to start with we clearly stated as soon as we got to the desk that we had never been to a spa or a hotel before and was given our key card and extremely brief and rushed directions on where to go for the spa and where our room was which was in a separate building. When we finally found our room we got ready to go to the spa where the pool is, however when we got there we noticed the only thing there to use was a swimming pool which was enjoyable but we were quite disappointed that the sauna wasn’t open as me and my partner both suffer with nasal congestion which has been flaring up a lot recently so we haven’t been very comfortable which a sauna helps with a lot. Now at 4:30 we had our treatments I had a facial my partner had a back massage and couldn’t fault the lovely girls that work there however me and my partner both said afterwards ‘that felt rushed didn’t feel like 25 minute treatments’. After that we went back to our room where I turned the shower on and went to unpack our clothes for the night to get ready for tea (which we were excited for) I walked back into the bathroom and the bathroom had flooded due to the water not draining down the drain from the shower, my partner went to reception and was simply told in a very snotty and arrogant tone from a woman on reception ‘well it has never happened before or been reported’ implying that it was somehow our fault that your drains are not draining water like they should be which is ridiculous, they ‘sorted the problem’ straight away and gave us a different room on the floor above, when we walked into that room there was 2 SINGLE beds in there and the room was very much smaller not anywhere near what we paid for so naturally we were getting quite agitated as we rarely get to spend time alone together and when I say rarely I mean we have three children all under the age of 5 so let’s just say we can deal with stress. What we should not have been dealing with was stress in your hotel where we came to relax and spend rare quality time together. So back to reception my partner went extremely frustrated where he naturally showed his frustration because we had been moving rooms for an hour and a half at this point, so third times a charm we got the third room on the floor above got in there it was lovely went to turn the tv on, the remote control wasn’t working.. talk about comical really. All in all we are very disappointed in our stay which felt like more hassle than it was worth extremely upset with this experience and won’t be recommending your hotel to anyone else. Also when we went for tea finally my partners steak was undercooked may aswell of been still alive and my pepperoni pizza was undercooked also so that was the cherry on the top of the cake. Might’ve not of been as disappointed if we were even offered something complimentary but didn’t even get offered anything. I understand you probably have regular people who spend lots of money all the time but surely you should be focusing on people who deserve a break, we are good genuine lovely people and this is the first time we have ever complained ever. Not happy at all.

The place is stunning , the staff are amazing , the only Issue I had was a cut my arm on a very sharp part passing through bathroom door, I emailed the hotel pictures to show as I forgot to mention until I got home and nobody has responded, I got some tissue and went into the hall to get sanitiser to wipe the door / wound and the dispenser was empty so had to go to the next one. Would of expected the hotel to take this sort of thing serious, other than that it was amazing

One night spa break with dinner and breakfast included. Excellent value for money. The staff were all very friendly and Covid-secure. Good selection for both meals and it was lovely to have a swim in the pool before breakfast.

Good location quiet stayed in an executive room which was some distance from reception no lift my wife had trouble with the stairs.

Arrived at 3pm and our room was not ready told to go and wait in bar waited 20 mins before anyone came to ask if we’d like a drink Shown to a courtyard room which stank of damp asked to move other room did not have a Bath bed was comfortable no shower cap in bathroom breakfast was very poor no scrambled egg mushrooms or tomatoes available very poor choice poor service and hotel is no longer offering the standard expect

My friend and I booked for the Sunday overnight Wellness Break and were looking forward to spending time in the spa for a well deserved break after a really hard year! However, it wasn't until we decided in the week before our stay to add a treatment each, that we were informed that the Thermal Suite wasn't open! Obviously this was very disappointing as that was the whole idea behind booking the Wellness Break. This should have been made clear at the time we made our booking so that we could decide whether or not we wanted to go ahead and book. As it was, our 'spa' time consisted of 45 minutes in the pool. Whilst our meal on the Sunday night was absolutely delicious, the service we received from staff left a lot to be desired. I think a refresher in customer services might be appropriate as we were left feeling that our presence was an inconvenience. The following morning, on going to make coffee for us both, we discovered that we had no milk and had to ring down to reception. Someone brought us a jug of fresh milk and told us that they were waiting for a delivery of the cartons and that's why there weren't any in our room. Whilst I understand that these things can happen, the hotel has only just reopened and I would have thought that everything would have been in place ready to receive guests. At the very least, it would have been nice to have been told about the milk situation when we booked in so that we were aware, again a lack of customer service. Breakfast was not great. We were asked what hot drinks we would like and these arrived along with 2 slices of white toast (we hadn't been asked if we wanted this). When I asked if I could please have brown toast, I was greeted with that same attitude of being an inconvenience and she said she would 'see what she could do'. The hot food had obviously been standing out on the hotplates for a considerable amount of time and was dried and hard looking. I didn't have anything from the hot food selection and my friend just got some sausages, eggs and beans and left it all as it was inedible. As everyone was asked what time they would be taking breakfast, I would have thought it would have been easy to manage when hot food went out onto the hotplates but I would suggest that all of the food had been out since breakfast started at 06:30 so you can imagine how it was by 09:00 when we arrived for our pre-booked breakfast. Neither my friend or I feel that our Wellness Break delivered what we had anticipated. To say we are disappointed in the whole experience is an understatement. We won't be going back!
