A true English inn (slightly modernized).

Delightful to spend a night there on our wedding anniversary, and invite friends to join us for champagne and dinner.

Very friendly staff at the reception the room 110 was compact but comfortable. What we didn’t expect was to find the room unclean. There had been something splashed up the walls and stuff on the table. We didn’t notice how dirty the room was until later in the night. We cleaned what we could and reported the state of the room at checkout. I would not return. Thanks

We received a friendly greeting on our arrival and check-in was efficient. The room was comfortable, clean and as advertised. The waiter who served us to dinner was equally friendly and attentive. I didn't enjoy my main course but probably the choice I made rather than poor quality - others in my party were happy with their food. I had checked in online and was therefore surprised on checking out that I needed to present my credit card. The hotel was very convenient for the cathedral and city centre.
Tiny room with no aircon

As a long time customer of Accor and member of the loyalty programme, I was was looking forward to my stay. I was visiting as part of a group, who booked a mumber of double rooms between them. We all paid for the same types of rooms - however my room was by far and away the smallest and only one without without aircon or modernisation. I deliberately booked and paid for a double room rather than a single, for space, despite being alone - yet my room was quite literally half the size of my sisters and roasting. Tiny. I barely slept. I was told by reception that there were literally no other rooms in the hotel to swap to as fully booked. I booked well in advance, so feel let down with the room I was appointed, particularly given my loyalty to the Accor group. I feel it is wrong to be charged the same price as my friends for such a small, unmodernised room (room 212). On a positive note, will say that the staff were friendly and the room was clean.
Good location, helpful staff but some improvements for warm weather

Enjoyable stay in a good centrally located historic hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful. Prompt replenishment of shower gel on request. Good COVID protocols in place. Nice terrace area. Only issues noisy air conditioning and no water in the rooms despite hot weather, although the bar did provide some complimentary water when we went to buy it.
