We have stayed at the Ibis Brighton many times and use Ibis hotels regularly all over the UK and Europe. We like the Brighton Ibis for many reasons and find the staff friendly and very helpful. On the negative side, the hotel could do with an upgrade. And we’re absolutely appalled that the hotel charges 3 £ per piece to use the luggage room. That’s quite ‘unusual’ for a 3 star hotel that charges quite a lot in summer. Very poor management decision.

Worst Ibis experience

I checked into my room, which appeared acceptable at first glance. However, it felt more like an ibis budget than the standard ibis experience. The room’s heater was integrated with a split air conditioning system, and when I turned it on, the noise from the vent was uncomfortably loud. I requested a different room, but upon entering the new one and activating the air conditioner, the noise issue persisted—and even worsened. Ultimately, I asked for a standalone heater. The hotel provided a small unit (20 x 40 cm), which I tested briefly. Unfortunately, it emitted a strong odor and produced noise that disrupted my sleep, forcing me to discontinue its use. Although the hotel offered complimentary drinks and placed a few bottles of water and some chips in my room (which I have refused all) - these gestures did nothing to mitigate my overall disappointment. It seems the issues were known in advance and not adequately addressed.

30 minutes+ to check in. Staff walking through reception ignoring the growing number of people queueing. Cooked breakfast items dried out and virtually inedible.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Two cyclists, travelling with bikes. We booked a family room to allow plenty of room for bikes. wouldn't hesitate to stop there again.
