Check in was seamless apart from the ID issue. Luckily my freedom pass sufficed. On leaving, I informed the receptionist the the shower head in my room, number 705, needed attention.

It was my 4th or 5th stay in this hotel and this year was unfortunately not satisfying. I booked early check-in für 30 GBP. When I arrived, I was offered a smelly room on the second floor, windows to main street - for 270 GBP or so. I asked for a new room, Justin at the reception was very friendly and helpful. 90 minutes later (pls remember: I paid 30 GBP for the early check in) a new room was available. While checking in I realized that other guests (not members of the loyalty program) could have an early check in without any charges. The aircondition in the room didn't work. I asked twice that maintenance should fix it - nothing happened. The only thing was, that I was offered an electric heater. I want to stress, that the whole crew was very friendly and dedicated, but unfortunately not effective. All in all the condition of the hotel does no longer meet the expectations and needs a make over. I was always a loyal guest, but I'm not sure if I will return next year after the stay this time. Please consider this as a constructive critique, that's why I do not want it to be published.

- All staff I interacted with were very professional, helpful, and friendly. - The breakfast selection was excellent, I appreciated the variety of savoury offerings such as breads, eggs, beans, cheeses etc rather than just being an array of 'dessert style' items like cereals, pastries, and cakes. - Offering a luggage storage service is greatly appreciated when early check-in wasn't an option.

It was a full hotel. Only 1 lift was working which made things difficult as not only were guests using the lift so we're the staff.

The stay was very pleasant. An efficient check in and then a room with everything I needed. The only disappointment was that one of the lifts were broken throughout my stay. The location is very good-close to the railway station and a fifteen minutes walk to the seashore. Unfortunately the weather is not guaranteed.
