Hello… we stayed in room 109 and had a delightful 5 nights at your hotel. The room was a bit dated and tired but comfortable. I would suggest the addition of some small shelving or a small vanity for the bathroom as there is really no place your toiletries and such. Being above the lobby… the noise was sometimes considerable and mostly in the morning during the busy checkout and may be worth posting some signs identifying the area as a quiet zone. The staff were amazing and very helpful. We dined in both the pub and restaurant and found the food and service very good. I was hoping to be able to charge to our room for food/bev and that seemed to be an unnecessary challenge. You can be proud of your staff and venue. We will be back for a future stay! Steve

The hotel is in a good situation on the seafront. The public areas are beautifully decorated with quirky pictures. The bedroom was clean and had everything I needed but was basic. Every member of staff was polite, helpful and friendly, the receptionist, random staff in the corridor and the restaurant and bar staff. Only negative was the fixed shower but i guess that is personal preference.

We arrived early but our room was not ready so we went to the bar for a drink. I had a coke and as I went to take a sip the whole bottom of the glass fell off and the coke saturated me. The hotel were very accommodating and provided me with a room to change and wash. Offered us drinks and were genuinely apologetic, they couldn't do enough for us. The room was lovely with a balcony and views across the sea. It had tea and coffee facilities. The toiletries supplied were also very lovely. Overall a great stay apart from the initial miss hap. There is also parking available. I would definitely stay here again.

Room ok, noisy from the corridor , standing in the shower when tall is an adventure as space is limited due to a bar right in front of you on eye height . Airco in this room was broken , so we opened the window but street noise is loud . Basic breakfast but good quality . Hotel could do with a make over as it feels tired

The staff where wonderful, pleasant and helpful. However the Mews rooms are awful. We where put in a room with a significant crack in the sink and large pitting in the glaze, damage to the tap, rust on bathroom fittings , extremely poor water pressure making showering hard, and stains on the carpet and generally poorly maintained. Told staff and where moved, they said they'd move out luggage if we packed it, a confusion on their end put us in a room briefly with large cracks in the toilets glaze, a stained carpet and generally poorly maintained, etc. It took some time to sort out where our luggage was we found we where in a different room again. When finally in the actual room with our luggage, the room was still generally dirty and badly maintained, a large obvious burn from an iron on the carpet in the middle of the floor, gum trodden into the carpet and general dirt and stains, grime rings in the sink and toilet, the room smelt (all of them did faintly, as did the towels of must) but this was badly of old cigarettes and must (particularly when the AC was on for it's first few minutes), the AC when first started often dripped and poured drops on the TV. The public spaces in the Mews are horribly maintained and dirty with significant wear and damage and odd smells. At this point, after seeing three rooms we gave up entirely on getting a room that was clean or serviceable and have written off the cost and resolved to never visit again. At the cost point this is frankly unacceptable, especially for "premium" rooms in the non-sea view area. This quality of care is what I'd expect from a B&B or hostel that cost about a quarter or less and didn't market as a premium brand. The staff where great, but management clearly do not care for the expensive non-sea view rooms, especially the Mews. When paying so much for a room, I expect a lot more in terms of maintenance and care of the space, if I thought I could have gotten a refund I'd have checked out and gone to the Ibis in town for significantly less money and better quality and maintenance. For a supposedly premium brand in the Accor group and premium costings, this is a truly awful hotel if you're in the Mews.

Stayed in room 110 (supposedly a ‘superior room’. Bitten 4 times overnight, pulled back sheets and there were 7-8 unidentified pieces/ items on the mattress. Google Lens suggested one was a mite/tick/bedbug. Reported to hotel reception the following morning (could not sleep after 4am) and pics shown. They said they would arrange a deep clean and I left the hotel assuming this would be done. Got woken up at 0655 the following morning saying that pest control were here to take a look. I had assumed that this would have been taken care of before allowing me to sleep in the bed for another night! Said it was not ok for them to come up at 0655 and they would come back later. Went down to hotel reception that morning and let them know that I would be out between 1000 and 1400, and asked what the rules were if the room was sprayed (ie no return within xx hours etc). They said they would check. Also advised them that the drain in the bath had been ‘gurgling’ all night and when I had a shower it did not drain properly (standing in about 20cm of water). Said I thought there was an issue with the drains and reception said they would get maintenance to take a look as well. Returned later that day, and reception advised that pest control had been round and found no traces of bedbugs. This is good news, but doesn’t explain the bites, and even if this was something else, if the mattress had been cleaned between stays then these items should not be on there. Surely mattress protectors should be in place as well? Anyway, the saga continues. Had a shower the following morning (bath drain still gurgling all night), and not only did the water not drain away, but some kind of matter was coming back up through the plug hole. I don’t know if this was excrement/ scale/ whatever, but it was disgusting. Pictures and video shown to reception when I checked out that morning. Overall, despite a wonderful view and nice communal areas, the room was seriously disappointing. Carpets are gross and need a good deep clean (I don’t want to think what some of the stains were) and the mattress and shower/bath issue were gross. I could have been half as much and stayed in a B&B with a better experience. You really need to do better. If you want to follow up, I have all images and videos.

My first surprise was that I had to pay £24 for parking. I asssumed as parking was available it was free. £24 is the most I have ever paid in a hotel. I thought the hotel was meant to be 4* but it was no more than 3 at most. The reception was functional. The hotel is old and has lots of level changes. I tripped on one of the level changes. The hazard tape was worn & it blends in with the worn carpet. The room was OK but small. The shower was hot & fast flowing. The breakfast had a good choice and was OK. It would have been good if the cooked food had been hot. I though Mercure was meant to be a good chain but based on this experience I doubt I would choose them again.

Poor stay, as a good member there was no welcome and the use of points I had for the privilege room was a waste. It was dirty with things in the bin and hair in the bathroom it was missing tea and coffee from the room and the coffee machine and kettle had water in. It looked as though the bed linen had been changed and the towels refreshed but everything else was from the previous user.
