We received a warm welcome when we stayed. I told the receptionist that we had parked in the front disabled space as there wasn’t any others available. She said “no problem, we have a car park at the back, just park in there and when you leave we’ll give you the code. Perfect. She then said, would you like breakfast in the morning, it’s £11 each, we wasn’t sure so said we’d see in the morning. We was given room 155 ( it said Prestige on the door), that got me excited, until we went inside. Bathroom lovely and clean, shower good, hot water. The carpet in the bedroom had lots of stains, it had a grubby carpet textured throw on the end of the bed, that had seen better days! You could just about squeeze past the end of the bed ( we are not big people). Bed was comfortable, nearly had a good night sleep, until the guests next door came back at three in the morning and decided to have full on high pitched conversations, does this mean the walls are thin??? Next morning we woke early and decided that we would like breakfast. I telephoned reception and asked if we could have breakfast. The receptionist said, yes of course, that will be £15.95 each, I said, we was told when we checked in yesterday afternoon that it was £11. She replied, oh no it’s £11 if you book the night before, but £15.95 on the day!!!! How does that work!!!! I couldn’t even be bothered to argue, so put the phone down. We hadn’t been told when we checked in at around 3.30pm that if we had booked breakfast then, it increases overnight by another £5 each. We decided to check out and go home and have breakfast/brunch at a local business to our home and support them. When we checked out, I asked for a receipt and on there was a charge of £25 to park in the hotel carpet. At no time was it mentioned to us that there was a charge, another mistake, lack of communication by reception. When I booked this hotel through Expedia, it said parking available at this hotel, it didn’t mention a charge and this was one of the main reasons we choose this hotel to stay. Overall I wouldn’t stay here again and if we were to recommend this place to family and friends, I’d warn them about the hidden costs, they could then decide for themselves if they wanted to stay here.

We had to check in late because of an event and this wasn’t a problem although there was no one at reception after midnight we called a bell and someone came. We’d hoped for a drink at the bar (it was a Friday night) but the bar closes at midnight and you have to order room service instead. The privilege room was big and nice to have a bath but paintwork throughout hotel could do with a touch up. Breakfast and catering staff were all excellent. Reception staff during the day were a bit officious (I was concerned that there was no one at reception after midnight and she said I could just ring a bell to get someone but this didn’t really address my concerns about security which was my only real issue.) Lobby is very well decorated and nice area to chill out in. Great to have car parking available despite being £25 a day.

We stayed for two nights on the 2nd floor and it was so nice to wake up to the sea view. The staff were lovely and helpful, nothing too much trouble. We had a lovely big room and bathroom. The breakfast was well cooked and very filling. No need for lunch! Was very sad to leave. The only thing I found a let down was the railings outside the room window. They are so rusty and decaying I thought they might fall down, and you can’t help looking at these when looking at the view.
