I arrived at the hotel and found the car park to the rear of the hotel. Entry is tight, and spaces are limited. However, it was secure. From the car park to reception is a bit of a walk, especially with 2 bags, but on arrival at reception I was met by Piper and another lady who I am sorry but there name escapes me. What a lovely couple to be greeted by. My room was on the first floor. As I had bags, I opted to use the lift. This must be the slowest lift in Brighton. After that, I used the stairs. My room was a little on the small side to what I am used to, but it was warm and functional. The evening meal was excellent, and I must thank the 2 ladies behind the bar for their assistance in my choice. The vegetables were cooked to perfection, a nice crunch. Breakfast was busy when I arrived, but the restaurant manager suggested a seat in the bar conservatory. Here I was on my own and with a great view of the sea. Breakfast was good with a large choice. OK, the hotel needs some loving care. It is a lovely building, but the carpets in places have seen better days, and some of the paint needs a refresh, but I enjoyed my stay, and along with other Mercure hotels I have stayed in this is on par. Parking is extra and for the night cost me £28.00. Cheaper then other hotels in the area, but I think a little high for paying guests. Yes, I would stay again

We staid over night and enjoyed our experience. We were swimming in an event at Sea Lanes early on Sat 12th April so didn’t want a full breakfast - would be useful to offer a continental breakfast as an alternative

An attractive hotel in a convenient sea-front location. The mews rooms are pleasantly a bit different to your normal hotel boxes and the staff were polite an helpful.

Lovely vintage hotel. Very attractive foyer. Staff helpful and friendly. Breakfast delicious and great choice comfy breakfast room overlooking the sea. Bedroom fine although the door of our room had gaps around it and the corridor light shone in all night, also chair had dust and a hair band at the side of cushion. The bottom sheet was clean but didn't fit properly. It would have been nice to have biscuits. The bar looked nice and seaview balcony although we didn't use this facility.
