I booked this hotel for a weekend birthday getaway. The location was perfect. The hotel is very nice , has parking, which is £28 a night .. didn’t see that on the website!! The best thing about this hotel though is the wonderful staff . Really friendly, helpful and nice

As a seafront, Grade II listed building, our on‑site parking is limited and therefore subject to a nightly charge, but I appreciate how this may not have been immediately clear when booking. Fantastic staff. Some rooms are tired we ended up in a stunning sea view room thanks to the FOH manager Marianna, the hotel entrance is stylish and welcoming. The Bar is small and cosy, the restaurant is very small when you consider the size of the hotel so can be busy. Parking is tight but available. The staff make this place. Special shout out to Flo and Kate on reception but everyone is great. Mercure Hotels you need to address some of the other areas in this hotel. Your staff outshine your hotel.

The hotel is far too hot in the rooms and corridors. Breakfast was an absolute circus with people wait in around for breakfast items. No patties at all. Table not cleaned from previous guest.

While I’m pleased to hear that you appreciated our excellent location and found our staff helpful, I’m truly sorry that other aspects of your visit did not meet your expectations. I apologise that the condition of the room felt tired and in need of redecoration. Your comments have been noted and are shared with our management and maintenance teams as part of our ongoing review of room upgrades. I’m also sorry to hear that the temperature in the room was uncomfortably warm — this is certainly not the level of comfort we aim to provide, and your feedback will help us address this going forward. I’m especially disappointed to read about your breakfast experience. A busy breakfast service should never feel chaotic, and I sincerely apologise that items were missing and that we did not cater adequately for the number of guests staying at the hotel. This has been raised with the food and beverage team for immediate review to ensure better planning, replenishment, and guest flow during peak periods. Thank you again for your honest feedback.
