As we walked in we were overwhelmed with the smell of popcorn and food. Walking to the second floor the carpet was dirty and smelly, the carpets in the hallway were worn and stained.

I AM A TRAVEL AGENT AND I STAYED HERE PRIOR TO OUR CRUISE AND HAD 2 ROOMS BOOKED WE WERE IN ROOM #323 AND YES IT WAS DURING THE WORST HEAT WAVE IN ENGLAND , AND WHEN WE ARRIVED THE STAFF AT THE FRONT DESK WAS VERY NICE AND DID ALL THEY COULD TO MAKE THINGS GOOD, BUT LETS GET REAL AND TALK ABOUT THE QUALITY OF THIS HOTEL AND THE ROOMS, YOU NEED TO STEP INTO THE 21ST CENTURY AND UPGRADE THE ROOMS!! YOU HAVE ONE MAIN PLUG IN IN THE ROOM AND THEN HAVE ONE BUY THE SINK AND IT IS UNUSABLE EXPECT FOR AND ELECTRIC RAZOR AND HAVE NOTHING FOR A HAIR DRYER, OR FLAT IRON!! YOU NEED TO PUT PLUG INS IN THIS AREA THERE WAS NO PHONE IN THE ROOM, HOW ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO CONTACT THE FRONT DESK IF YOU NEEDED SOMETHING OR WORSE YET IF IT WAS AN EMERGENCY AND NEEDED HELP!!!! THEN LETS GET TO YOUR SO CALLED ROOM COOLERS!!!! THEY WERE NOT IN WORKING ORDER AT ALL!!!! YOU NEED TO REPLACE ALL OF THEM IN EVERY ROOM WITH ONES THAT ACTUALLY WORK!!!! YOU ALSO NEED TO MAKE IT WHERE YOU CAN OPEN THE WINDOW UP ALL THE WAY!! SO YOU COULD GET SOME FRESH AIR AND THE LITTLE DESK TOP FAN DID VERY LITTLE BUT MOVE HOT AIR AROUND!! AND FOR HEAT YOU HAVE A PLUG IN HEATER SO THAT ELMINATES A PLUG IN AND SOMEONE COULD GET A SEVERE BURN IF THEY ACCIDENTLY TOUCHED THE METAL COILS!! YOU ARE NEXT TO A CRUISE PORT AND YOU HAVE PEOPLE FROM ALL OVER STAYING THERE YOU NEED TO UPGRADE YOUR ROOMS!! THERE IS ABSOLUTLEY NO REASON AT ALL TO HAVE A HOTEL THIS CLOSE TO A CRUISE PORT AND IN THIS CONDITION!! WE SPENT ALOT OF MONEY TO STAY AT YOUR HOTEL AND WE FEEL LIKE WE GOT SCAMMED !!!! IF I COULD CANCEL THE PAYMENT TO YOUR HOTEL ON MY CREDIT CARD I WOULD!!!! AS A TRAVEL AGENT THIS HOTEL WILL NOT BE ON OUR RECOMEND LIST !!

Bed was comfortable. Not told that we would be put in a room where scaffolding and building work was going to be taking place. Breakfast was not great for the money. Very little choice, and not near enough as image suggested. No tea or coffee facilities and no vending machine to get one either. Staff were able to help us out with a kettle and mugs but only because they had one spare. Happy that it was dog friendly. Location was good. 15 minute walk to the city and the ferry links.

Lily C on reception was really welcoming and helpful - thank you. Room was small and basic, "budget" as they call it. Shower and sink in room area, toilet is separated by a door. Comfortable bed, good shower, extra pillows available. No space for tea/coffee/ kettle. Good location to the port and some eateries close by. Plenty of car parking available. No plugs by the mirror for hair dryer use, only 2 in the whole room. Wouldn't choose to stay for any longer than 1 night.

Shower had a disgusting sewage smell emanating from it. Previous reviews show this has been occuring since 2015. 2026 and it's still happening? Room had thick dust above headrest and the room had several flies in the shower area. Friendly staff and they did move us to another room which was better.
