This Novotel is good. I just think it could be amazing had it been in another country. I learn't after a few days that it was not the hotel that was the problem, it is simply the Spanish way of life (no offence). They have no urgency or structure. So your room may or may not get serviced depending on whether they have time or when they can do it....could be at 10pm at night! This I cannot tolerate after paying good money and expectiing great typical ACCOR service. Breakfast was great. Coffee was rank but that's normal in Spain. Just had tea instead. Bathroom was good.

No loyalty card privilages at all

Clean. The staff is indifferent. Normally when arriving to any accor hotel, having a platinum loyalty card, I have different privilages, like late check-out, breakfasts included, room upgrade etc. Seemed that the staff are unaware of the loyalty system. In order to have a later check-out I had to stress that with the loyalty card it's a standard option, only after a bit of explaining how it works it was possible, but first the reseptionists said "no". There was some misunderstanding with the breakfasts. Normally we have free breakfasts on weekends. As well when I asked about this option, the receptionist said "no, I know nothng about it", when I asked to check it, she made some call, said "yes, you have the free breakfasts included" and the next day the waiter at the restaurant sad he has no idea about this option and we just turned around and had our breakfast in the city. Normally when we choose a hotel for a business trip or a city break, we first choose accor, because with the loyalty card it's easier, quicker, more comfortable. But there are some hotels like this one in Barcelona, the one we stayed in Annecy, Mercure in Graz where the staff only shrugs their shoulders and does nothing about the loyalty system.

- Room was clean and quiet, liked the water bottle, blackout shades, and coffee maker AND tea kettle. - great location near tram, subway, grocery store and restaurants - front desk staff was friendly - elevators are very slow at busy times - bathtub-shower combo seems a bit dangerous, tub is slippery and have to be careful stepping out when wet. also only soap and shampoo, no conditioner, in the shower. - a lighter blanket would have been nice, the comforter was hot - we americans apparently like to have washcloths in the bath, missed having those to wash my face with. - no built-in USB ports as is commonly found in hotels now.

We take notes of your few recommendations as a lighter blanket or built-in USB ports for future improvements, even though, in the meantime, reception have a stock of adapters, as we accommodate guests from all over the world.
